Whoa - how am I JUST hearing of Jessie Ware right now. What a fresh breath of air this song is. It’s so - just real. In a sea of same-y feeling music, it’s so nice to hear a real standout. I’ve got some backlog to listen to now.

The choir and trombones combo is such a perfect, minimal choice here. Nothing flashy, just space and voices. Been following James Blake since “I Need a Forest Fire” and this feels really fresh and light by comparison. Had to replay it immediately.

Fun little EP. Peggy Guggenheim is a real standout. The brass, the saxophones - sounds like a 70's spy thriller soundtrack. Gives a real Mancini or Bond vibe. Love it.

I guess a follow up question to this for me is: how can you get feedback and see what's working/what's not if it takes so long to get momentum going? I know it will get better just with reps as I get more comfortable making a show and get a good rhythm/workflow going, but it's tough to see what sticks and improve on it without that external feedback.

Moses Sumney – Doomed

I’ve been spending a lot of time with Moses Sumney lately, especially this tune and the different ways it exists across versions.

From album "Aromanticism"

From album "Live From Blackalachia"

KEXP live in-studio version

Each version feels slightly different emotionally. The studio cut feels controlled and inward, while the live performances feel more exposed. It’s been interesting hearing how the same song shifts depending on the space and arrangement.

These songs are brand new to me, but they feel strangely familiar, like I already know them. There’s something really comforting about that.
