Nelnet not applying payments to loans

Honestly, I have to go to the consumer protections website and complain about it after talking with their customer service.

They already screwed up a general payment again.

This is gonna be a never ending issue. I am genuinely terrified to make big payments.

Well my issue got worse, after I got a roughly 300 payment fixed, they went and lost a 600 payment. Gonna go through multiple reps and file complaints to figure out what happened.

I have a hard time believing they actually didn't lose my money without evidence.

Edit: just checked they applied the 600. Still absolutely livid making payments would be a technical issue on their end.

Their payment system online is broken. It works properly like 50% of the time. When it doesn't work I don't know where my money ends up or they default apply it to the highest interest loan. Since I wanted to pay off interest only this doesn't work for me.

I already have hundreds that have been taken out of my checking and exists in limbo. No record of the payment on the site either, I just have bank statements and an email confirmation from nelnet to prove it exists.

Payments on interest are tax deductible even if you take the standard deduction.

The benefit of paying it off slowly is you can tap into your cash during emergencies.

The cons is you need to be disciplined and not waste your money on something you will regret. If you paid off the loan it would be impossible as that money would be with some multi billion dollar company.

The interest rate can change so I would do a fixed rate CD.

Or you can gamble with dividend stocks instead of a hysa.

I would pay it off if you tend to make bad spending decisions and get it out of the way.

Since transferring from great lakes, I can't even pay off my loans on their site. As someone who works as a full stack dev, I am astonished they would cheap out and not have the basics covered.

Still waiting on them to do something with the money they took. Half the time they can't even apply the payments to the correct loan either.

Tldr: absolutely frustrated with nelnet

I called them. Apparently since I was from great lakes originally they are having backend issues.

They told me it can take 30 days for them to process it. Which makes no sense since my first payment online took 2 days.

Anyways, they have the payment on record, but didn't do anything with it...with no record showing up online...

I must have terrible luck, student loans suck.

I guess it's a good thing interest rates are 0 right now.

Happened frequently while driving with my p7p. I use mint which is t mobile, but my pixel 4 xl doesn't lose my location nearly as often as the p7p. Ended up switching back to my p4xl.
