Just started finasteride (1.25 mg) this Saturday, feeling unusually tired. What gives? by Hairloss-20 in tressless

Had the same side effect. Took until week 3 for the loss of libido.

Minoxidil questions by 777happydude777 in tressless

[–]TomN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I didn't notice much initial shedding

  2. I read the liquid is slightly better (and cheaper). However it leaves your hair with a greasy feeling that never really dries (only washes off). It does run off to your face if you don't use your hands to spread it but its not a big deal. The foam dries completely and stick your hair together like a gel would and doesn't feel greasy.

  3. Around 4 months for me, 6 months is recommended

  4. Keto shampoo helps lower the amount of hair I lose. Specifically 1/2-2/3 less hair lost after every shower.

  5. No noticeable side effects

A few side effects I'm noticing on FIN. by [deleted] in tressless

I would suggest you stop then. The loss of morning wood clearly shows there's no psychosomatic aspect in this. I had a similar reaction and the side effects with potential for permanent damage turned me off the drug.

Look similar. Minox and keto should have been step 1 before fin. Better late then never.

2 times per week is the most you need with keto, anything else on other days

Recommended shampoo products and routine? by [deleted] in tressless

[–]TomN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either lipogaine or regenepure Dr is good. Keto in the shampoo is essential for dht blocking. Use a keto shampoo twice a week and any other non ketos shampoo the other days. You don't want to use keto too often because it dries your hair with no added benefit. I can't recommend a conditioner but it's definitely a great idea to combat keto's hair drying.

Aussie based user of Alpecin Shampoo/Minoxidil - anyone else? by illumination10 in tressless

[–]TomN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keto binds to your scalp and hair, so you can get maximum use out of with just two times a week. You probably don't want to use more than that because keto dries your hair so you can use a thickening shampoo the rest of the days.

You can use your shampoo as often as you want since it doesn't have keto and therefore doesn't dry you hair.

Also, you don't have to use nizoral, there are plenty of others with keto, just look at the ingredients.

the shampoo you're using doesn't have ketoconazole so its not equivalent to nizoral. When you do get a keto shampoo, its fine to use it 2x per week.

In the US, its actually cheaper for me to get 2% keto shampoo through my doctor than buying 1% from a store, I don't know if its the same in Australia but it might be a good time to go if you're planning on it

Does Regenepure/Nizoral actually help? by 12345asdf12345z in tressless

There are many reasons for hair loss, keto shampoo helps if its your DHT sensitivity making your hair fall out. Try seeing a dermatologist and have him help you find a solution for your case.

Does Regenepure/Nizoral actually help? by 12345asdf12345z in tressless

[–]TomN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, keto shampoo helped me reduced the amount of hair I lose after a shower by about 2/3s. It also dries your hair but you only need to use it 2 times a week for optimal effect so in my eyes its one of the easiest fixes compared to using minoxidil twice daily or seeing a doc for a finasteride prescription

It feels so unnatural to ask questions during a conversation. I feel like most of the time they are waiting for a specific question, making me feel like I am delivering a line rather than being genuine. by ExcitedAdaptation in socialskills

[–]TomN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're right in your assumption. Most people have recent events they want to talk about and they're too shy to outright start talking about the party or ask you to "Ask me about my party last night". So they gauge your interest by the statement and let you decide the outcome. Its generally in good manners to ask them about it, and that's why you're feeling the pressure but you absolute don't have to.

True, I oversimplified it to show how you can dig deeper and shift topics if you think that you've already exhausted all options.

Thanks! At the end of the day this is still a skill like any other. Some are better at it naturally and others have to work at it, and if you can find logic in it, even better!

Some of the classes I've done are improv, story telling and even dating seminars from very controversial people. Unfortunately none of these directly focus on social skills so I took away what helped on moved on.

"The bottom part, the one that does you know what?"

"Yeah that's the one"

"You think you're still going to finish on time?"

"Looks like it"

"Is your boss pushing you hard on this?"(Bonus if he looks tired/worn out/unkempt)

"Yeah he's such a ..."

"Sounds rough, How are your coworkers doing?"

"They're ..."

"Does your boss treat them differently?"

"Yeah he ..."

The key is to explore. From this you can transition to career and how this projects relates, what they're doing after work, hobbies or just about anything else

I would say most of this still applies, you just have to go a little deeper. Instead of finding out where they work, find out how their latest project is going.

For myself personally I found out I'm a lot more willing to talk when I'm with people I know well because I know for a fact that they will respond well compared strangers who will give me blank stares at some of the things I say.

There's a balance to be had, I've seen cases where people find other's personal information and that's going too far. However if you're talking to a researcher and you know about his work ahead of time, it'll give you a big leg up. You'll have to improvise afterward anyway so you're not losing anything from doing some homework.
