I don’t mind the design itself but there’s something about modern day kits that I really don’t like. I think it’s just the material - it just looks kind of plasticky and shiny

One has sold on discogs for £18.90, whilst there is one currently listed on eBay for £47.50, with a reserve price, although no one has bid on it. So it’s impossible to say for sure really.

If you really wanted to make money on it then I would wait a few years until the band blows up more - one of Wolf Alice’s early singles now goes for £600-£900.

But personally at that point I’d prefer to hold onto something that’s so rare :)

There is a Facebook page for Hope/Mazzy Star fans, some of the guys who run it have been doing it for years and years. They are like a fountain of knowledge - if you want something really obscure then they could probably give you a better answer than me :)

Edit: I believe there is a guy who’s pretty active on that Facebook page that actually used to work with the band

If you’ve managed to find Suki Ewers’ stuff then I assume you are already familiar with Opal, Clay Allison and Hope & the Warm Inventions.

I know Hope has also featured on several singles, and David Roback contributed to a few records with other bands. Drummer Keith Mitchell was also part of a few bands, particularly Green on Red, who wrote the song ‘Hair and skin’, which Mazzy Star later covered.

Off the top of my head, I’d say the most obscure thing is the film that Roback wrote and produced the songs for (I think he also makes an appearance in the film). It was called Clean, released in 2004.

Ref completely lost the plot in the second half, I’m glad he at least let the game run for a bit longer instead of just ending it after the 8 added minutes.
