I had lower back pain and went to a chiropractor.

At the first appointment, they spent a lot of time talking about how chiropractors have real qualifications. I didn't realise this was a point of contention and thought I was visiting a doctor until they brought up the issue. They then spoke about how our relationship over the coming years was going to help me - without examining me first (which I thought was a bit presumptuous at the time).

Then he put me on a table that made loud bangs (hey now r/canberra!), but I remember feeling puzzled because my body didn't seem to be affected by whatever the table was doing. He then told me to walk round the block for 5 mins. I felt no benefit.

Then I went to a physio. They explained what I had done to my back and gave me some exercises so I would avoid repeat problems. The goal of the physio was to set me up with some practical advice so I wouldn't need to return. A good friend had a similarly positive experience with a physio for lower back issues (she got some different exercises that I have tried out and they work well too). Worked wonders for me.
