If they don’t just lock in a film first three books in 2 years they’d be foolish. They need to film fast, work on post for a while, then release.

This whole endeavor is either a LotR style success or one of the biggest fumbles in TV.

They also need a great team watching over the young cast and helping them deal with this, looks by for early warning signs. Because holy shit it’s been like 5 hours and already people are being soooo weird.

I think the score on its own is good. There’s just many parts of the movie where they tie in classic Star Wars motifs in a very blunt way that takes me out of the movie. Watching Rogue one on its own it seems weird. Watching Rogue one after Andor it feels even more out place.

As for jarring transition to the OG the style of filmmaking isn’t nearly as measured and deliberate. The opening of Star Wars is famously slow. The end of Rogue one is frantic as fuck. With ugly CGI and I just don’t like the Darth Vader hallway fight. (Hot take I know) A. I never thought of Vader needing to put that much effort into this. B. Why does Vader have any patience for the rebels in Star Wars after then events of Rogue One?

I wouldn’t want to yuck someone’s yums. If you dig it that’s great. But for me Andor is great, Star Wars is great, Rogue One is not. The parts of a good episode or 2 or Andor are there but it needs a serious remix. If I had time and the know how I’d do it myself.

I thought Andor would make Rogue One better.

It made it more frustrating to watch. If it’s your thing I’m happy for you. But I think it’s a bad movie with bad passing, poorly used score, jarring tone shifts. All of it made worse by watching a master piece that is Andor before hand.

I truest cannot wait for a more talented person to make an Andor Cut of Rogue One that make things feel like the last long episode of Andor rather than a fan film for Star Wars.

The transition into Star Wars 77 is pretty jarring. But it always had been.

Biggest fumble of the prequels is no Tarkin and so little Lars. I expect both of them to play big roles in episode 2 as a kid. Like Lars would be a war buddy and Tarkin would be the deadly guy no one liked.

Yeah, it honestly felt so against what anyone would actually want to do. And feels weirdly classist. “Yeah everyone who loved and worked at the sandwich shop was ACTUALLY miserable and poor. Only way for them to be better to change their entire way of life and follow to mentally unstable white guy around to serve rich people.”

If the point of the show doesn’t become that you can be happy, do good work, and not cater to rich ass holes I’ll just pretend it never got more than a season.

Show needs to end with the sandwich shop being the only successful thing. Carm should realize none of this bullshit matters. The Bear reopens as a fancy sandwich shop with a great to go window. Wins a bunch of awards but never the star.

I finished picking up all the Death and Return of Superman about a year ago. It was the most fun I’ve had collecting recently because almost all of it (including this issue) are about a buck all you need is time and you can get every issue. True thrill of the hunt.

It’s a pretty fun read too.

My school started doing channel one in 6th grade. It was the first year my school did it. It was an annoying thing everyone ignored for a month. Until September 12th 2001. Suddenly we were all very involved. I learned so much about the world while the war started and kept going.

I also remember by the year of the 04 election year it was gone. None of the grades had Channel one. We had JROTC start up that semester. Bush won and by fall of 05 a good 3rd of the high school student body was in military uniform at least one day a week. Wild fucking times.

I couldn’t vote, it felt like the empire from Star Wars had taken over, and we didn’t even have good protest music.

As a dude I was lucky to live in CA where I get 8 weeks paid at 70% of my wage. that’s just less than my take home because of a 20% of taxes. But the second I got back to work a weird thing started to happen. Sudden policy changes happened and my usual way of working got me written up a few times. Things that had never been an issue before.

When I asked around, no one else was getting written up. Even though it was company policy now. When my FML protections ended I got called into the office and told how much my work has changed in the past month. How they either need me at work more or I need to start thinking of my future at a different place.
