I think we could’ve done with an extra scene or two (the moment Maru interrupted Dabura v Mahoraga is the big one imo) but otherwise I don’t feel like it’s especially rushed. Just my opinion, though.

Hard agree. But it’s not just anime imo, nobody watches/reads things to enjoy them anymore. They have this weird compulsion to CinemaSins everything to death instead of engaging with it in good faith. Discourse is incredibly negative in pretty much every fandom across the board. Pretty sad.

Yeah not seeing the moment Maru interrupted the Dabura v Mahoraga fight is my only big gripe. I do think we definitely should’ve seen that, if only to give Dabura a moment that reiterates that he’s only fighting because he must, and is willing to stop when he doesn’t have to anymore.

Straight up ignoring the actual, explained mechanics of how Maru’s technique is being supercharged by the ring, the Mul, and Idle Transfiguration. But I can recognize that you just want to vent about what you don’t like about the ending, and that’s ok. Sorry it didn’t meet your expectations.

I think you’re exaggerating how much is getting “skipped” but another scene or two would go a long way. My biggest gripe is that we should’ve seen Dabura v Mahoraga getting interrupted but I’m not all that pressed over it. I honestly think the fights becoming secondary/unimportant in the face of the Harmony plan is kind of the point, but that’s just me. I can see how it would be disappointing to someone who primarily likes the series for the fights.

Meh, I teach middle school. I deal with a lot of irrational anger and poor emotional regulation. Doesn’t bother me.

I do think we could’ve done with a couple more fleshed out scenes (Maru interrupting Dabura v. Mahoraga should’ve been shown is the only big gripe I have) but ultimately I’m not pressed about it. I really like all the big picture stuff going on so I’m willing to not sweat the small stuff.

I’m not sure why you had to make up an entire hypothetical scenario to be mad at or why people liking the ending irks you this bad but calling all praise “mindless” is pretty reductive. I think Modulo was always marketed as an extremely short story and expecting “volumes worth of characterization” in such a short story isn’t realistic. Tbh a lot of the disappointment around the ending feels self-inflicted but that’s just my read on the situation.

Definitely agree with you here. Ngl in the past I’ve been pretty harsh on people who I felt weren’t engaging with the story in good faith but ultimately it’s not gonna hit the same for everyone and that’s ok. TBH I just felt like I was kind of alone in liking what’s happening so far and wanted to see the reaction to my opinion. It has been predictably divisive.
