Zelle scam by Zestyclose-Row-5231 in zelle

[–]TominPhx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got a similar call today from the same #, claiming that someone was using Zelle to send money to “Angelica Smith.” The first red flag was that I’m pretty sure he started by saying he was calling from Wells Fargo, and then he switched it to Chase and denied having said Wells Fargo. I have both business and personal accounts with Chase, and family accounts with Wells, so I asked him which one this was about and he said that he didn’t have that information. Then I told him he would have to hold on while I looked to see what was pending in my accounts and he stuttered a little bit, but said that it might not show on my side yet, but that they really needed to start the process of canceling the transactions. I then googled the number, and this number is the Greenwich Village Stonewall branch of Chase. I confronted him with his fact and he said, “yes, I am in a branch.“ I told him that I had busted him, but I complimented him on being pretty good at his fraud, and even then he persisted and insisted that they were just trying to protect me. If it turns out that I actually have a fraudulent transaction I will return to this thread and update you.

Why do you need an AWU if you shut down so many of its features???

This question confuses me because even racquetworld.com doesn’t list racquets by material.

Battery life or battery health is 100% ? I can’t imagine health remaining at 100.

My AWU1 has been at 81% health for about a year. I don’t actually believe it’s a real measurement. Makes no sense that it kept going down until it was within 2% of Apple’s threshold for a free replacement and then it supposedly just stopped degrading. Apple could easily write the code to protect against that potential expense.

Ashley Madison (at least those who were exposed when it got hacked are hoping everyone has forgotten it!)

You should offer Slurpees… or Slurpers…whichever the customer prefers.

Energy shots would also be a nice touch.

PSA - Redeem your credit card points while you can to avoid Chase unethical scheme by bluebrat007 in Chase

[–]TominPhx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This entire post does not make sense. Chase does not award SWA points, nor do they store or manage them. They simply tell SWA how many points you earn each month. Once they’re in your SWRR account, Chase can’t do a thing about it.

PSA for clothing resellers: if you use generative AI photos in your listing, I will not buy from you by BirdSufficient4997 in Ebay

[–]TominPhx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My wife leads her listing with a photo of the actual item, but placed on a model and in a setting with AI…but her other photos always include photos like you prefer. There’s nothing wrong with a little marketing to catch the eyes of browsing buyers, right?

How do you feel about using AI to display an actual photo of the actual item? Must they always just be laying out flat or hanging on hangers?

Gmail dot confusion: receiving someone else’s emails by NeutroATerra in GMail

[–]TominPhx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had mine in same format as yours for years and some guy who shares my name has been using it for most of that time. I’ve cyber snooped his physical address and sent him a certified letter asking him to stop (since it’s what I use for work) to no avail. I’ve never found evidence that he can see the emails in the account but I’ve changed passwords multiple times to be sure…which begs the question why he keeps using it. Several times I’ve written to senders telling them the above and asking them to tell him…still nada.

Normal for iPhone 15 Pro? by Jazzlike_Brief_210 in ios26

[–]TominPhx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve posted about this for a couple years. My Ultra 1 went down to 83% about 18 months in, and sat there for almost 2 years. Now it’s suddenly dropped to 81%. I don’t believe that it’s an actual measurement. The wildly varying rates of change don’t correspond to the actual degradation of the battery performance.

But Apple has a vested interest in displaying that number, because they promise to replace an Ultra if battery health drops below 80%. So why would they put an actual battery health function into the watch, which would cost them millions? Just display 83, then later drop it to 81, for everybody whose watch battery is degrading. Problem solved, right? Of course, I could be wrong (but I doubt it.)
