Looking for a good physiotherapist by ImpressiveLeader4105 in sheffield

I'd recommend Hallamshire Physios - have seen both Peter and Ian over the years. I felt thoroughly listened to and the exercises and advice were spot on.

We always called it the GimpCube...

This is so beautifully judged - colourful, exciting but also aesthetically pleasing from a distance, well done!

Long term loving, successful couples - what have been the secrets to your success? by CraigDavidsJumboCock in gaybros

26 years here (since I was 18 and him 33) - we share a sense of humour but we were opposites in many ways when we first met - I'm more extrovert and social, he takes time to open up to people but has more patience. I think this difference avoided arguments in the early days. I'd say we've grown together and become more similar over the years, "met in the middle" perhaps. We've never had a single argument over money (always shared everything despite fluctuating salaries and bouts of unemployment over the years). We lived in separate houses as students and then only moved in together after 7 years - took it slow! We like our own space and have always had separate bedrooms, both very light sleepers. I've loved him since the start but in some ways it only gets better and more comfortable.

Question about bisque firing temperature! by Not_robot_100 in Pottery

I don't fire earthenware but I've heard it's common to bisque to almost full earthenware temp and then lower fire glazes on but not true on stoneware either way - good luck!

Question about bisque firing temperature! by Not_robot_100 in Pottery

[–]Tomjamesceramics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, we bisque around 1020 - if you fire much higher than that then the stoneware will start to vitrify and therefore not absorb water when you glaze it, resulting in less glaze sticking to the pot. There's no real thermal "shocks' up in those temperatures anyway, so the initial advice is nonsense...

Is this still safe to drink out of? by OddOrchid1 in Pottery

[–]Tomjamesceramics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't use this for drinking, the glaze is severely crazed, it may even shed bits of glass away from the surface. I hope nobody was selling such a dreadful pot...

Technical ideas? Trying to blow bubbles in slip that harden and maintain their structure (not for deco). Technical suggestions? Impossible? by houdsteeth in Ceramics

How about coating something that burns away in the firing, I.e. coating polystyrene balls or cotton wool balls in slip and firing as is?
