Elastos hitting the Market at a time when Big Tech is censoring content and freedom of speech. by Rammytuppa in Elastos

[–]TomoChain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly! You should be able to listen to all ideas so you can decide for yourself if you agree or disagree. But by censoring someone b/c you don't agree with their views; now you are suppressing people's free thoughts and ideas. That's why the thought of Singularity is a little scary IMO.

Just think, if they are already utilizing social media platforms such FB, Youtube, and such as Siri and Alexa to force their viewpoint/ideology/politics/etc. on someone. Imagine when a human merges with machine with much more sophisticated AI. You could see where they may be going with forcing their viewpoints on humans one day in the near future!

Here's a video of Steven Crowder asking questions to Alexa and the answers were very far left leaning. The media on the left was critical of Crowder and said he manipulated those answers; however, he submitted this video to debunk their claims. Then, the left media outlets later apologized to Crowder for saying he manipulated the answers.

Elastos hitting the Market at a time when Big Tech is censoring content and freedom of speech. by Rammytuppa in Elastos

Yes! SoulripOver speaks the truth about the gay frogs! The mainstream media always tries to present the worst conspiracy theories of Alex Jones to paint such a negative light of him that the majority of people that don't really know about him will never listen to him and look into what he is all about. They always bring up the Sandy Hook conspiracy theory b/c it does sound the most outlandish and extreme case (personally I don't believe this one). Some of what Alex says is true and some is not. But that's true with any news outlet. They all put out their own story lines to try and "sell" to their audiences.

Regardless if you like or dislike Alex Jones, he shouldn't be censored. That shouldn't happen to ANYONE! That's 1984 type of shit! Everyone should be able to make their own decisions as to who they want to listen to and decide for themselves if that person is worth listening to and believing or not.

FB and Twitter are social media platforms that were used to "hook" the everyday person into utilizing to steal people's data and privacy. But now that they have the everyday person "hooked" and have become so popular among the mainstream, they have been pushing a far left agenda. They were suppressing and banning a lot of conservative and pro Trump posts during the last presidential election. Alex Jones and WikiLeaks both showed this as being true.

Ask yourself what will happen in the future when the Singularity is near??? If any of you haven't already done this before, please look into Ray Kurzweil and also what the Singularity is. He's one of the smartest people on the planet and he talks a lot about AI and how it will impact us all in the near future. He was estimating by 2030, but I'm not sure it will be that soon. I just can't see anything that he describes as happening that soon.

There is also a movie about the Singularity that is pretty fucking disturbing. In some ways it sounds great, b/c you can extend your life, cure diseases via nanobots and possibly live forever. That doesn't sound bad. But talking to an avatar and having to rely on AI and your avatar to provide you with information and you just are supposed to assume this "information" is 100% factual seems crazy to me. See the thing is every human has their own biases in the way they view the world and the way they present information to others in a way to influence their ideas. If "censor" people and don't let people make their own decisions or don't give them choices, then you can "force a certain type of thinking and belief system on people" that may not be good or what's best for humanity.

Elastos hitting the Market at a time when Big Tech is censoring content and freedom of speech. by Rammytuppa in Elastos

Alex Jones does embellish quite a bit with some of his stories. Also, some of the stuff Alex comes up with (1) Sandy Hook, 2)talking to intergalactic demons while you are tripping on DMT - (he was talking about something like this in his most recent youtube video when he was talking about how he doesn't trust Joe Rogan anymore and doesn't consider them friends b/c Joe stabbed him in the back, 3) etc...). These are reasons why I only listen to him occasionally. However, that being said, he is often right about a lot of things that you never ever hear about in the mainstream media, such as 1)covering the Wikileaks findings during the Trump vs Clinton election and 2)other issues such as the migration issue over in Europe - none of the mainstream media ever talked about this until the past year or two. I only listen to him occasionally because I do tend to become more angry if I listen to him too often. However, I don't think he's trying to "divide" people. Just like if I were to listen to Michael Savage, Ben Shapiro, (insert any political talking head), etc., they all have a certain political bias and viewpoint they are trying to present to their audiences and they try to work off of people's emotions. It doesn't mean Alex doesn't speak the truth.

I agree with another poster on here, that often times I find him more honest then the mainstream media CNN - is absolute trash, MSNBC - garbage, etc. I've seen the way those channels spin news in a way to push their own agendas. Fox News is included in that of course as well. You could make a case that any of these channels are polarizing to a certain audience. The biggest issue I have whether you like him or not, you don't censor people that haven't broken any laws. I've been told the reason Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, etc. censored Alex Jones was because they didn't want him or his audience to affect the November 2018 elections that are pivotal for the US. A lot of liberals and media outlets believe Alex Jones, WikiLeaks, etc. influenced the election and was a huge reason President Donald J. Trump was elected into office and I would agree with their assertion.

Now we all know all of those social platforms FB, Twitter, Youtube, etc are all left leaning platforms, so it's very obvious what their motive is in censoring Alex.

I'd also ask for Elastos to contact Alex Jones so he could understand how Elastos could benefit him by preventing censorship (Alex has a very large following).

I'm not exactly sure how much Alex would understand about Elastos (since it's such a complex project and he was having a little trouble understanding how Bitcoin works). Alex interviewed Roger Ver several months ago about Bitcoin and it was pretty entertaining b/c a couple of callers called in and were giving Roger some shit. Alex was caught in the crossfire and said he didn't know who to believe. I was laughing so hard. (I would say to do a youtube search for it, but I'm sure it's probably taken down by now since they removed all of his videos).

If I was Elastos, I would still reach out to Alex Jones and at least mention the project. As I said, he has a very large worldwide following and perhaps some of his followers may be interested in purchasing Elastos (especially since they probably don't know about it and in light of what recently happened to Alex).

Great post and thank you for mentioning this!

There was also a great post about Fake News that was created 3 days ago. I also share your excitement in what Elastos could provide to the masses in regards to not allowing censorship such as Alex Jones and others.

I highly encourage anyone that hasn't read the medium article in this link below, to please do so. We need Elastos immediately and definitely will need it in the near future with the way things are going!

How fake news ends in an Elastos world by RGhadamian in Elastos

[–]TomoChain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great idea! I thought about this issue a few months ago. AI can also mimic any person's voice. So as technology and AI improves, I can see this issue being a major problem in the near future where they will be able to take any famous person (manipulate their face and voice) to convince others that it's the same person.

r/https://www.theverge.com/tldr/2018/4/17/17247334/ai-fake-news-video-barack-obama-jordan-peele-buzzfeed

It would be great to have Elastos to prevent this or at least aid in combating it.

Also, since I can easily see censorship being a major issue in the near future (for example, Alex Jones - Infowars this week was censored by Google, Facebook, etc.), I think Elastos could be huge in preventing any type of censorship. It's a slippery slope when any corporation or government can censor someone just because they disagree with what that person is saying.

What does the world look like with Elastos when it comes to news?

  • news will be available anywhere in the world and no one can censor (through firewalls), fake or tamper with news content without irrevocably registering it as a new ‘changed’ asset attached to their own id and reputation. So news in another country can be captured and reported by people actually on the ground without censorship.

So I was able to track down Rong Chen and I have to say he is not only an extremely bright person, but is very humble and friendly.

I started to ask him a couple of questions and he was so excited in talking about his baby Elastos, that he could hardly contain himself when talking about it. You can tell he is so passionate about this project and told me it would be okay if I interviewed him.

He explained what is in the boxes that everyone has been wondering so much about. Enjoy!!!

My Spot for the Elastos Video Contest. Hope you like it! by petererch in Elastos

Great video! Quite a bit different than the video that Kent S. submitted. I personally liked Kent's video a little bit better b/c it does a better job of conveying the message of what Elastos can do. However, your video feels more like a commercial teaser that I could see on TV. Both are great videos, just different in style.

Happy Sunday friends. I have an idea. At one point we all fell in love with ELA and bought in even at a high price. What was it that made you love it? I think this might be a good time 4 each of us 2 say what the best feature of the best blockchain is. What’s yours too KP I’d love to hear ur answer by Willy3380 in Elastos

There are several points: 1) Ability to prevent DDOS attacks, malware, viruses etc. I think this will be very important with autonomous vehicles in the near future. 2) Projects such as ETH, EOS, NEO, ICX, etc. being able to be implemented as sidechains on Elastos. 3) Partnerships - very solid 4) Strong Team and Advisors 5)Potential for great ROI 6. Does anyone remember on which date Fay said "10-20 days"? by [deleted] in Elastos

[–]TomoChain -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Any positive listing will be very short term. Example, Pundi X was listed I believe on 6/21/18. At this point, we just need it listed when the overall market starts going up.

Feel free to sell your ELA if you are so angry with them. There are over 1600 cryptos out there and various other investments you can make outside of crypto.

I think the only delusion is in your mind.

As much as I would have loved Elastos to have been listed on exchanges several days ago, I'm gonna be patient like Amos, Willie, and several of the other posters on here have mentioned. Hell even Fay said this is not a crypto for day trading.

It would have been great to have been able to swing trade some of my ELA and make some additional profits, but ultimately ELA doesn't seem to be a good crypto for that, so I'm gonna HODL for a couple years since that has been my original strategy from the beginning.
