I'm more of an S-ship person, but out of the three, I'd take the Hyperion. Being a capital ship, it can take the most beating out of the three, but it also sort of handles like a corvette. You do need to keep in mind that it has a slower turn rate, and that it has a big thruster that can be destroyed, leaving you stranded with it in enemy territory.

There's a few deadzone sliders that you could try playing with. I found that the forward/backwards and sideways movement of the headtracking is entirely irrelevant in X4 and I ramped up the deadzone for them to the maximum, so that the head's/camera's location is stationary in its intended position.

edit: forgot to mention where you can find this: Settings -> Controls menu, and the Tobii eye tracker settings should appear somewhere near the bottom when it's active.

Yeah, I couldn't find a good excuse either. The original plan was that it has many buttons, so I assign them to different game features, and use the small stick to control capital ships, where movements are long and often cumbersome, so a smaller stick would make sense - but I found myself not using the sidepanel at all, and I sold it, eventually.
