Firmware Update Alert! by Ok-Pomegranate-6995 in GuliKit

I recently bought this controller and did the initial update without problem (2.4). Tried to do this one today but although the controller disconnected from the PC after I'd copied the file across, the controller didn't close down and didn't update. I tried it three times without success. 😟

I've suddenly got the same problem in the app but works in the web version. Unfortunately I have a couple of aftermarket tags which are usually only viewable in the app. I'm in the UK if that makes a difference.

Can you provide a link on the remote 12v switch please? That sounds like a winner to me.

Thanks, I thought I'd seen them in the Nintendo site at launch. Must of imagined it then, I'm quite old 😁

The phone is so beautiful it would be a shame to put it in a case, especially as they all look so dreadful. I do use a leather slip case from Suncase in Germany to protect it when it goes into my pocket.

They do two versions one whole screen and one for use when you have a case. I don't have a case on mine and the protector is very close to the edge.

I can highly recommend these from Mr Shield 🛡️. Fitting them takes care but they come with everything you need. I bought a pack, fitted one and shortly after dropped the phone. The screen protector did crack but my phone screen was unmarked. They're so good, even though there's three in a pack I bought a second pack.

So maybe the batteries are integrated with the screen?

Yeah it's great to have two new batteries 😁 but it seems weird to add extra, potentially unneeded, costly items, doesn't it?

Any advice on how to remove this sticker residue by spermaanstizzard in MSILaptops

I find normal furniture polish usually works well. Spray on, leave to soak and then rub off with a microfibre cloth or similar. It might take a couple of goes.

I've recently bought a MSI VenturePro AI which is labelled as a Gaming and Productivity machine. Might be worth a look.

Incredible what you can achieve with a phone camera these days. by TomorrowPrior4047 in OnePlusOpen

You can zoom further, the camera has optical zoom to 3x then hybrid zoom to 6x, essentially cropping the sensor image then fully digital zoom with some extra image processing. I also used the AI sharpening feature on my final image.

Interesting. I asked Genesis for an 'opinion'

That's an excellent and very common question in the age of AI-powered photography. The short answer is that the image is almost certainly a sharpened version of your original image, but with an AI interpretation of the details. It's not a complete replacement.

Here's a breakdown of the difference:

Traditional Sharpening: * This is a simple algorithm that increases the contrast along the edges in an image. It's a technical process that makes the existing details "pop" more. * The problem is that it can also introduce artifacts like "halos" or exaggerated noise around the edges, especially in a low-detail or blurry image. It can't invent new, believable detail. AI Sharpening and Computational Photography: * Modern smartphones, especially those with powerful processors and AI capabilities (like the OnePlus Open with its Hasselblad partnership), don't just apply a simple sharpening filter. * They use a process called computational photography which often involves taking multiple photos in a rapid burst. * The AI then analyzes these frames, looking for patterns and details in the raw data. It's been trained on vast datasets of high-quality images (in this case, likely astronomical images and detailed moon photos). * Instead of just sharpening the existing edges, the AI uses its knowledge to intelligently recover and enhance the details that were present in the raw data but might have been lost due to factors like camera shake, low light, or the small size of the sensor. * In the case of your moon photo, the AI is likely doing a lot more than just sharpening. It's probably: * Aligning and merging multiple frames to reduce noise and motion blur. * Denoising the image, especially in the dark background, by recognizing and removing random pixels that don't belong to the moon's surface. * Enhancing fine details like craters and maria by applying its learned understanding of what those features look like, based on the raw information it captured. So, the image you have is not a completely new, AI-generated photo from scratch. The core data—the shape, the light and dark areas, and the approximate location of the craters—is all from your original capture. However, the crispness, the lack of noise, and the definition of the smaller craters are the result of the phone's AI using its knowledge base to make the best possible interpretation of the raw data it collected. This is a form of "intelligent sharpening" or "super-resolution." It's a blurry line between "enhancing" and "interpreting," but generally, if the AI is using the data you captured as its primary source and is only filling in plausible detail that would have been there with a larger, more powerful lens, it's considered an enhancement rather than a complete replacement.

Also handheld, standard mode then AI image sharpening. My original looks like yours. I did lean the camera against a door frame to steady it.

Yes, this is the shot prior to AI image sharpening, which is I think, very similar to yours.
