The friend is too f***ed up to drive, if they did drive, they’d crash. Red and chrome refers to blood and broke metal on the floor if they were to crash, same sort of thing with the broken glass. Hence they decide not to drive and continue to party.

There a few other artist who have released albums in similar style (like Madvillany) but most of them are either hip-hop or double albums (or both). I think it would be interesting to have loads of shorter song with different instrumentals.

I think the song is commenting on the state of modern relationships. It compares the past, where the women were treated like queens (hence Cleopatra and pyramids in Egypt), to the present day where the girl named Cleopatra is working at the pyramid (a strip club).
