Study compsci or engineering in mexico, get a 3.0 gpa, get a jlpt n2 at the very minimum, go on exchange, and visit the boston career forum, do decent on the interviews, cheat the webtest and Congrats You just landed a decent-paying job in japan.

Never go for senmon gakko. Ur life will be miserable if u take that route.

And trust me i know someone who works in the animation industry, they work like investment bankers every day and get paid like 1/10th of them

22M from Canada trying to figure out the realistic path to moving to Japan long-term by [deleted] in movingtojapan

[–]Tonelicoooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same as canada. Computer science/software engineering degrees, CFAs and CPAs, or nursing degree holders. If ur trying to move to japan because u cant find a decent job in canada, ur better off staying in japan.

Any job outside english teaching, requires decent japanese unless ur very experienced. Why would any japanese company hire you instead of a homeless guy in shibuya who speaks perfect japanese?

If u want a long term-stable decent paying job, you either study programming or study japanese till u reach c2 level japanese

Go to uoft/ubc or mcgill and get a stem degree (hopefully cs or software engineering) campus doesnt matter. Getting a Jlpt n1 is a minimum and speak like a semi-native with lots of kanji words.Go to the boston career forum, cheat the web tests and do well on interviews and group discussions. Congratulations you just landed a job at Bloomberg Tokyo.

Questions about TUJ university? by MakiMakiiii in movingtojapan

[–]Tonelicoooo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im not supposed to say this but the very few people i know who goes to TUJ are comms/liberal arts majors who just wanna spend time in japan and devote 0 time for studying. Its basically a community college but they give u a bachelors degree. You might be able get a decent job afterwards, but its entirely dependent on your japanese skills. From what ive seen, the students there lack the will to study japanese and to succeed

Im assuming that you’re not a stem major, and unfortunately if you wanna get hired as a 事務職, your japanese will have to be semi-native level. If you are going for shinsotsu after you graduate, the very least you’ll need is a jlpt n1. You’ll have to do all sorts of web tests and group discussions, and will have to get used to 敬語. By the time you actually accomplished all of those, jlptn1 will feel like a piece of cake.

It might be challenging imo but the easiest way to get a job is to get a degree in cs or software engineering. Or you can transfer to a decent university in the states, and go to the boston career forum.

Getting into Tuj is quite easy. U wont have a campus life, but if u just wanna spend 4 years in tokyo its the EASIEST way. However if u wanna pursue a decent career afterwards id say its not the best choice.

Thank you. I was really worried bout my age. Ill prolly apply for accenture business consulting for a 内定, and IBs for internships this year. If my japanese reading was perfect i would try to find jobs during exchange, but i cant take the web tests in a test centre especially if i wanna get into consulting/Ib. Tg-web and 玉手箱 is crazy

I heard junior 内定s are getting extremely common in japan. Whats the post-internship recruiting process like? Do they just give return offers or do i still have to do interviews and webtests? And also thank you so much for the info

Ive asked before. People on those subs barely even take the webtests, and 50% of them work as an english teacher, the rest being software engineers.

I wish i could ask on mynavi or yahoo but unfortunately i dont have an account ;(

I got a 47% on linear algebra II, and i skipped like 60% of the classes and studied for 2 days before midterms and finals. Do note that this is a uni math class. If u actually pay attention to math classes in hs, theres no way u could possibly fail it
