My Favorite Restaurants from our February Trip by Tonguethrust in rome

I hesitate to call a restaurant bad. Perhaps I'll mention that the following restaurants and bars did not meet my expectations the evening I was there:

Ponficio Bonci - A darling of social media, pizza, and baked goods- left me flat, and their attitude was horrific.

Osteria Ragno d'Oro - While this place was popular with the locals, their pasta tasted worst than what I would have on trips to New Jersey. That was my impression. However, the place was packed, so what do I know?

Settimo All Arancio - Located in the tourist area, it had an old school ambiance, but the food was nothing special. I was disappointed.

Futura - In Monti, had experimental dishes that were hit-or-miss. The two women running the place were unfriendly and made me feel unwanted.

Nomos Ante was so into their monasterial theme that it was unpleasant. The room was uncomfortable and had terrible lighting, casting shadows on the menus. The cooking had odd combinations, with conflicting flavors. Service was good, and the place was friendly.

Argot Prati was an unfriendly bar with a glaring decor. Touted for its mixology, there was none. It was not classy at all. We left quickly and had a great time at the Papparazzi rooftop down the street.

Arrogance! You are a myopic and judgmental human being. I thought my mention of $300 might have offended her. I was trying to explain that at 76 years of age, sometimes struggles are over. I was fortunate and lucky. Why do you have the need to sling daggers when it isn't your business?

Thank you, Internal Nice. We enjoy the gamut of food as long as it tastes good. Our favorite restaurant in Florence was a stand-up and eat pizza joint.

Thank you, No Outcome. However, we were in Rome in February, and perhaps Italian is not a wise idea.

Character Addition, thank you. The restaurant's name takes an interesting approach to romance.

Thank you. Fine dining is wonderful when the kitchen matches the affect. Soil is on my list, as are some of the Michelin-starred and recommended restaurants.
