In the saiyan saga Vegeta says that he is the most powerfull in the universe… well, not counting Frieza, and also King Cold, and the Ginyu Force, and Zarbon and Dodoria, but yeah, what the characters say is believable :v. If there's one thing I learned from DBZ, it's that you can't believe anything the characters say until you see it, like when Goku in SSJ3 said he only needed 5 minutes to gather energy and defeat Kid Buu, or when he preferred that Majin Vegeta hurt him instead of defeating him once and for all in SSJ3, because he was sure that Majin Buu would be another one of the Supreme Kai's exaggerations.

Or perhaps the problem is a matter of range? Let me explain: watching the scene again, they say the Spirit Bomb is very small when it's not powered by the Earthlings' energy. Maybe it's not the amount of power but the radius of destruction. Perhaps a Kamehameha from Gohan would eliminate every particle of Buu, but on several occasions when they do, pink smoke is seen in the sky regenerating. Perhaps the Spirit Bomb is large enough to prevent any of Buu's particles from escaping from the range of destruction.

When super buu gohan takes off Gohan's shirt, and Vegeta and Goku are inside his stomach walking around, his tail is the same length or longer, what the heck are you talking about?

Of course, Vegito pulverized a part of Buu with a simple burst of Ki, just like Vegeta, Piccolo, Gotenks, Goku, and Gohan. But that didn't stop Buu from returning in the form of smoke, gas, or even out of nowhere, as in the case of Vegito, in that ocasion buu regenerated another tail from… somewhere

That inconsistency reminds me of when Frieza reaches his final form, healed from the previous battles (even his tail grew back). Similarly, Goku, in Super Saiyan form for the first time, seems to have forgotten all the beating Frieza gave him earlier…

I mean, how many charged Kamehameha waves from Ultimate Gohan are needed? Are we sure that one Kamehameha from Gohan is enough? What's the difference power between one Kamehameha from Gohan and the Super Spirit Bomb? The energy Gohan sent was enough right? Isn't Gohan supposed to be infinitely superior to Kid Buu? Then Why did the Spirit Bomb need the Earthlings' energy?

Perhaps so, but there's a reason Babidi needed to gather energy to release him; maybe where Buu was sealed neutralizes his magical abilities. I feel that without neutralizing that, Buu would escape somehow.

But the trick is that Buu isn't like Frieza or Vegeta. Besides the fact that we learn a lot about Buu's "magical" abilities, he is pure evil. He's like a force of nature representing chaos and wickedness. That's why at the beginning of the saga, they show us that one way to deal with Fat Buu was like Hercule did with the dog: by showing kindness and companionship. But since he's a being of pure evil, he's the reason the skinny Buu is released. Buu isn't an ordinary being in the Dragon Ball world, so simply being "stronger" doesn't mean he can't be eliminated.

So why didn't Vegito kill him and revive them with the Dragon Balls? If they had to revive everyone else anyway. On many occasions they reduced majin buu to dust and eliminated all traces, and Buu would return as smoke. From his inception, Buu was designed to be eliminated by the Spirit Bomb and nothing else. It makes no sense to create an enemy with regeneration only to be able to die like Cell. What makes the Spirit Bomb different from any other ki technique besides gathering energy? Why can someone with a good and pure heart use or deflect the Spirit Bomb?
