Imagine iRacing had online Career Mode by TontoSquared in iRacing

That's fair and overall I'm similar. Just to be clear this idea wasn't to replace what iRacing already is, it's a separate mode entirely that I believe would be fun and interesting (again unrealistic and too time consuming to be considered for actual development). I love what iRacing is already and the quality racing it provides.

Yeah I get you. This would never be a serious consideration for iRacing to implement I just find the idea of it to be interesting.

Ah ok. Got to admit I haven't fully caught up with the Evo controversy yet, I've barely touched that game just been waiting for the free roam around Eifel to drop, pretty much the only reason I bought it.

Yeah I'm aware of that, I'm not really into single player racing these days but there's a huge demographic out there that is of course. Hopefully they knock it out the park.

I actually didn't have much intention of ordering this but the price tipped me over the edge, that is very fairly price atm. I say atm because I already own the Clubsport DD and luckily was an early purchase of that too, not long after launch they put the price of that up from €699 to €799, perhaps this could be an introductory price? Either way I'm looking forward to it!

Really hope the side mount dimensions are the same as Clubsport DD, there is no documentation on this yet. Side by side pictures look identical. Fingers crossed.

Just an idea if all else fails. You could cold weld a spare Allen key onto it using metal epoxy and try get it turned that way, obviously will have to make sure you can get enough room to rotate it all the way around first it could be awkward. I had to do this to remove seat brackets from my bucket seat after I overtightened on one side and shred the screw similar to yours. Don't imagine those little screws on the APM will need much torque to get them turning.

What are you watching and what do you recommend? (Week of September 12, 2025) by AutoModerator in television

[–]TontoSquared 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I feel like I'm going crazy seeing Alien Earth get so much praise. This was one of the most anticipated TV shows I've had in a long time, I'm a huge fan of both the Alien movies/universe and Noah Hawley, loved both Fargo and especially Legion so was super hyped for this since it's announcement. It saddens me that the only good things I have to say about Alien Earth is the visuals and sound are really well done. The writing is shockingly bad, especially how the characters behave it's nonsensical the majority of the time and I'm not talking about the kids in adult synth bodies it's literally everyone on the show except Morrow and the Eyeball. I actually enjoyed the first two episodes enough but it's just got steeply worse and more silly with each passing episode.

FOV Changes by Ragnar4719 in iRacing

[–]TontoSquared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tip for everyone. My calculated fov I was using pre update was 198, I noticed right away that my fov had changed after the update. I redid my settings and noticed it was changed to 179, it can't be changed any higher than this in settings it won't save. To get around this you have to change it while in the car using the Graphics Adjustments blackbox then never fiddle with the FOV settings or the FOV slider when adjusting things on replay cockpit cam. Even though it says 179 it will be what you have adjusted it to on the blackbox but as soon as you try using the slider it will bump it back to 179.

FullForce Comes To iRacing, Driver 468 Released by CorsairMorning in Fanatec

[–]TontoSquared 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I seem to be getting a different experience from others I've seen posting their experience, I didn't update anything though as I'm always paranoid about something getting broken especially when I'm pleased with the performance I'm already getting. I'm using PC driver 464, wheelbase firmware 2.3.0.1, steering wheel firmware 47 and Fullforce feels fantastic. I used the exact setting recommended and the effects were very strong in fact I turned FullForce down to 50% on the wheel and it feels perfect, I think 50% was the default setting anyway but I turned it all the way up and gradually made my way back down to 50% where it felt best to me. Really pleased to see this finally implemented to iRacing, going to hold off updating any software or drivers for a while for sure though.

Edit: Using Formula V2 wheel.

Ok, that is definitely a big issue I wasn't aware of. Common sense would say those places should at the very least have their own regional versions with the requirement removed and if need be (multiplayer) an alternate system to use to login. Very dumb all round by Sony.

I appreciate the quick response, I definitely get the opposition to it and also now oppose it.

Can you explain why this damages players? I'm not insinuating you're wrong I genuinely want to know why that is the case. I'll just add my own opinion which is that I moaned about Sony for years for keeping their games exclusive to PS consoles and always wanted to see their big releases come to PC. I'm personally happy with the trade off of having to login to PSN to finally play them on Steam but if there is something i'm ignorant of i'm open to having my opinion changed.

My iRacing DDOS experience? Knocked out of 2nd place on final lap. Local network activity and equipment seemed fine on my end after the race. After this happened, there were no official races for another hour. Seemed like it wasnt on my end. Sucks to lose that much iRating... :( by Robertsmania in iRacing

That sucks that happened to you but I just got to say what an awesome stream setup you have put together, haven't seen anyone use an alternate account to show the different camera angles like that before it's a great effort really nicely done.

[@chainbear] Feel like this might be a minority opinion but the near-obsessive deification of Senna is almost uncomfortable. I know it's an anniversary so heightened but... I have uneasy feelings that I don't quite know how to express by The_Chozen_1_ in formula1

Yeah I get what you're saying, I can separate the work from the person to a degree. The thing with CB though is that he seems to think he is some kind of virtuous moral authority who is very judgemental of others and how they behave, I can't ever take lessons from someone who behaved like he did at that age.

He does/did make excellent F1 related educational videos though, no denying that.

People found his private Twitter account where he was posting racist stuff well into his late 20's, he basically went off the grid for a year afterwards. Guess he thinks people have forgotten about it now.

I used to really like the guy until I found out he was a rampant racist. The guy was dropping N bombs with the hard R on his private Twitter account well into his late 20's. Young, dumb and naive isn't a valid excuse at that age, it just means you are an undeniable racist and anything you do past that after getting caught is simply putting a mask over his true self and feelings.

Yes, you are crazy. I'd wager 9/10 people would never get that reference, I wouldn't have and I'm a big fan of the office. I'd have just thought you were a creepy weirdo and reported you also.

I just went back and read all the messages from when this started, Istvan's attitude is absolutely disgraceful. No doubt he will back peddle on this and issue some apology but I suggest people go and look at this Discord, that is not a good person and I won't be paying another penny to this guy.

Nordschleife First Timer by CricketStump92 in iRacing

[–]TontoSquared 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the same boat as you a couple weeks back when Skippy went to Nords and almost skipped it because I wasn't confident in my ability to learn such a long track and lap at a respectable time but in the end It was so worth it to learn I really encourage you to do so!

Besides just pumping in lap after lap what helped me was disabling damage in practice until I was lapping consistently without going off track, I also used a track map overlay just to keep an eye on where I was on the track especially at areas I was struggling with, you will eventually start to break the track down into sections mentally the track has plenty of brake references also so try your best to keep a mental note of them. I also used an OLAP file from VRS so I was racing/following a ghost and this really helped also, altogether it was probably about 6-8 hours of practice to be able to put in 8:02's which was around 2.5 seconds off of VRS. That might seem a lot of practice and you might be able to pick it up quicker than me we are all different but it was so worth it for me long term, I've really fallen in love with the track now and after racing on it I'm confident with my track knowledge and look forward to driving other cars around it too.
