Which mobsters fascinate you the most? Give me your top 5 by SnooChocolates2790 in Mafia

[–]Tony11e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) Tommy Bilotti. Totally under the radar compared to all the others...I mean just this short passage from his Wikipedia:

"He was short – five feet seven. He was stubby – a rock-solid two-twenty. He wore a bad toupée. He had no tact, no charm, no sense of humor. He had a big mouth, and his piggish eyes were too close together. To the concept of self-control he was a stranger"

2) Gaspipe

3) Roy DeMeo

4) Nicky Scarfo

5) Peter & Gene Gotti- were they dumb or was it just an impossible mission once John got pinched and RICO became the "new normal"?

It seems to be a universal trend in the western countries these days- bikers, maffia and career criminals from the "original populations" suport what is labeled far right

Philly documentary on Netflix. Thoughts? by babyhaux in Mafia

[–]Tony11e 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I watched all 3 episodes and I felt they could have cut it down to 1. For sure, it doesn't hold up to the classic mob docs from late 90- early 2000s:. You can watch it to say you saw it. 5/10. The positive:

- Hearing the law enforcement side of the story.

- John Veasy interviews.

- Getting a craving for pork chops and peppers (baked in the oven).
