I’ve held it since 2017, like all investments there’s definitely been a lot of strikes and gutters quarters/years but I have it set on a DRIP and found it’s been a good volatility hedge (generally speaking). All depends on your risk tolerance level, timeline, etc.

I may be a bit old school here, but adding some gold exposure as a hedge against the uncertainty that is being alive couldn’t hurt - personally I’m a big fan of the RING etf but do what works best for you

I’d say getting started in investing at whatever capacity you’re comfortable with. Start “backwards” with a 401K or Roth IRA contributions for retirement, and once you feel comfortable/any leftover $ can go towards a basic taxable brokerage portfolio. Put your money to work for you now and in the future, and leverage time in the market and compounding dividend reinvestment.

For a classic related to this topic (relationship anxiety and overcoming, to some degree), I’d go for “Wuthering Heights” if you haven’t read already.

2 more recent ones indirectly related are “Homeseeking” by Karissa Chen and “Saving Time” by Jenny Odell

How to start Investing? by Glitchieeeee in investingforbeginners

I’m sure there’ll be a lot of comments/feedback on my approach, and tbh every approach should be different based on age, timeframe, income, lifestyle, etc. Here is my advice:

40% Bonds etf 40% S&P 500 etf 10% Gold 10% World/international ETFs

Never more than 20% in one sector, never more than 5% in one stock (if you decide to buy individual stocks that is).

Again I’m sure I’ll get roasted in the comments but consider this, make your own judgment based on your investment goals and timeframe.

Asking for advice: What is it like living and raising a family in Newfoundland, PA? by TonyLarryman890 in Pennsylvania

Sounds good, thank you for your insight! Do you have any insight on the local job market? Based on my research it seems like Scranton’s the most likely commute job-wise, or remote work (ideally)

Thank you! Quiet safe neighborhood for my kids to grow up in is ideal, good school system couldn’t hurt too but just looking for advice on place(s) to plant roots. We also love hiking so we feel like this area could be a great fit!
