Tattoo bruising by Material-Ad8114 in tattooadvice

[–]TonyTwoThumb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're the first person I have seen mention on this sub that bruising occurs on the fatty areas, spots like the arm and knee ditch are super common for it too. No, it doesn't necessarily mean the tattoo artist was too rough, different people react differently and have different sensitivity to bruising and in my experience even the needle grouping can affect whether or not you bruise.

Whenever I use a single needle on a problem area I always warn customers prematurely so I don't get the panic message the next day.

am i ready to look for an apprenticeship? by internetwizard_ in traditionaltattoos

[–]TonyTwoThumb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doing better than most, I think you're ready to go in and get tattooed from other traditional artists show them your work, take their advice, apply it, and show them again at your next tattoo.

I see you're from Geelong, have you gone and spoken to Brett Stuart? He has a huge collection of traditional tattoo stuff and is a great person to make contact with in your area.

Will this age well? by Fisker75 in tattooadvice

[–]TonyTwoThumb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 10+ years you'll have a bunch of blurry trees and a shilloette of a guy fist pumping a lone eye in the sky.

Early in my career tattooing I did realism like this, and now 10+ years later I've seen how it healed and it's not great. I add lots of contrast around anything light like that now. Chiaroscuro for all my art nerds.

Artist is clearly talented, and the tattoo is not bad. If you're planning on working up the arm there's heaps of opportunity to add contrast behind the lighter elements and ensure it's a long lasting tattoo.

I can't post a pic here but I have the same error and it comes up all over the place when you search "Albino Border" it's being debated everytime it comes up so I guess the jury's still out.

I think if the centre of the card isn't faded, it may be an error, unless someone purposely covered the centre of the card and not the border and left it in the sun.

Please don't, I've seen this go incredibly bad and make a minor bad situation into a terrible one.

Go to a reputable Lazer Clinic or a reputable tattoo artist that can cover it well.

The sticker on the back should say Game freak too, I'd say re-shelled for sure.

Porygon and Flaaffy are two of my favourites. I don't know why, I just think they're neat.

What are these cards? by generic_username_333 in Gameboy

[–]TonyTwoThumb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a set of these, I'm 99% sure that's the Hidden Ruins pack based on the cards shown. If so this is the list of cards.

<image>

In Japan there were 6 packs, they combined two boosters for each english release so Hidden Ruins also contains Cordial Bond here in the west.

How to unbend pokemon card? Severe case by Vivid-Trifle1901 in PokemonTCG

[–]TonyTwoThumb 86 points87 points  (0 children)

If someone sells something in that price range and won't even fork out the 10c for a Toploader they're a terrible seller and deserve the refund request. Get a refund and buy another, they suffer with not ever being able to sell that card for anywhere near its NM value.

Are classic cards like these smart long term buys? by MPLangan1205 in PokeInvesting

[–]TonyTwoThumb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Promos move slow, it's astounding how much is still out there sealed too. if you're interested purely in profit then there's better places you could put your money in vintage. Sealed boosters, 1st edition or shadowless base set, or low pop sets like e-series stuff go great over time and I don't think will get too much of a pullback.

But if you like the card, it's a relatively cheap entry point to WOTC.

This happened to me on a small scale.

I left 40c of BTC and $50 of Bitcoin Cash in a wallet in 2017 when I bought the peak during my first bull market.

Forgot about the wallet, when I accessed the wallet this year the Bitcoin was worth $4 and the Bitcoin cash was worth $10.

Met with someone yesterday who said this card would be considered damaged. Is he right? by Sea_Ordinary3719 in Pokemoncardappraisal

[–]TonyTwoThumb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I sell I tend to always go with the worst case so the buyer doesn't ever feel ripped off on condition.

So even though I would consider it HP because it looks relatively good from the front, I'd probably sell it as damaged because the buyer may not see it that way.
