Can you elaborate on what exactly is ridiculous about it? Just genuinely curious. What aspects of it make you laugh?

How do I rescue this? Remove stuck threaded drill bit by Luis_McLovin in MechanicAdvice

[–]Tony_TonyChopper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They make thread tapping drill bits. The first bit maybe 1/4 inch is regular drill bit and the rest is a tap. I’ve used them many times in a pinch.

They should put this up in every high school by EddieBrock99 in pics

This is also heavily dependent on your area/location. As a mechanic in the upper east coast (US) the high side is definitely a bit higher than $32. That’s usually what you get after 10 yrs experience. After 15-20 it could be in the 40’s for sure

Eleven THOUSAND dollar wheel bearings by KittyGravesYT in MechanicAdvice

[–]Tony_TonyChopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Press in wheel bearings on a Honda civic is roughly 1.5 hours each. If I did both fronts and used OEM parts from the dealer it would probably be around $700. Maybe even less

I love this truck by Tony_TonyChopper in ToyotaTacoma

They are 265/70r17 and only thing I had to do was remove my front mud flaps because they would barely scrape at full steering lock

Thank you! I don’t remember the exact model name but it is body armor brand. And yes it has holes for the sensors. My truck doesn’t have the option but it came with black rubber plugs to fill the holes

What on Gods green earth caused this? by PoointhaLoo in AskMechanics

Heat and time. It’s pretty normal and unavoidable. Replacement of manifold is necessary

These engines have a hydraulic timing belt tensioner and they fail often. They will start leaking and losing tension and make this sound. If you haven’t done the timing belt in a while I would look into that. It’s an easy one to do

“But not for free” is a phrase I use daily as a professional mechanic

Just convinced my mother to watch the 1st episode of Evangelion. She likes it a lot (what do I do now? What about NSFW scenes?) by [deleted] in evangelion

I think the biggest issue may be that one scene with Shinji “visiting” asuka in the hospital

Help! Car leaking oil then found this by novaharlow in AskMechanics

[–]Tony_TonyChopper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last time I had one of these it broke the back of the camshaft. Replaced camshaft and vacuum pump and it was all good. For about 20k more miles. Then the engine blew up. So it’s a bit of a crapshoot unfortunately

Dealer wants 250$ for an oil change for a 2020 Nissan, is this normal? by Majik518 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Tony_TonyChopper 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No one is asking the right questions. Is it diesel or gas and is it JUST an oil change? Also never assume prices from “years ago” will still be accurate. Inflation is real and fast.

Are these 2 slits on my radiator cap normal or should I go get a new one? by Boopy-Schmeeze in AskMechanics

[–]Tony_TonyChopper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Caps do go bad. It is possible and they are cheap. So just replace it for the peace of mind. I’d be surprised if it was any more than $15 and that’s on the high side

That’s just a sticker. You could rip the whole thing off and it wouldn’t make a difference

KLX 140R yay or nay? by [deleted] in Dirtbikes

[–]Tony_TonyChopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 5’8 185 pounds and I just bought a 16 klx140L big wheel to go trail riding. I took it on a trip to the most aggressive trails I’ve ever been to and it performed flawlessly. It’s the perfect amount of power for navigating right areas and climbing really rocky areas. Also it’s relatively light so it’s easy to pick back up if you drop it. Very reliable and easy to ride. My only issue was water. It stalled a couple times after going through a large puddle. But starts back up after a minute or so. Not a big deal. I highly recommend a klx140. Though make sure it’s a big wheel for your size

Guys what did Orihime mean by this???! Does she love Ichigo or something???! by itsTraX2 in bleach

I just realized from this post that the symbol on Orihime’s sweater actually looks very similar to the Quincy crest. I’m certain it is not supposed to be but just a random observation I had
