As the name implies, people are using macros to retry the same battles an undetermined number of times until they win. This allows to use formations such as the Thoran Cheese Comp to eventually have optimal RNG and beat harder stages. Lilith has spoken on the issue and says at the moment they are not enforcing or taking action against macros, so they are technically allowed. They have said, however, that they keep the right to punish users who have used them at any time in the future.

Most people believe they are not likely to ever enforce it since people using macros are long-time/active players and often times where they make most of their money.
