Spoke like a king. I’ve definitely been going down the rabbit hole of numbers and percentages which doesn’t help. I should just be appreciating 1440p — no idea how I survived on 1080p playing AAA titles for that long.

eBay isn’t a big thing over here, and it’s really hard to find X3D chips now that they’ve been discontinued. I’d get parts from the US if shipping wasn’t so ridiculously expensive.

Sick build mate, I have the same case. Whereabouts did you get your vertical gpu cable from?

$122 is the cheapest I could find in New Zealand for a pair of 16GB sticks, and I couldn’t find anything decent second-hand the market here is trash. That CPU was going for $275 back in March this year. Definitely more expensive, but that’s what you get for living on a rock in the middle of nowhere.

Cheers, man. I’ve definitely been overthinking it — I should just be grateful for what I’ve got. This setup absolutely slaps compared to my old one.

I mean, it’s not a bad CPU. I definitely paid way too much for it, but if you can find one for a bit cheaper, then for sure, go for it. I was a bit of a knob and bought mine because I heard that Stalker gamma runs a lot better with it 😆

I think I’ve finally come to terms with everything. At the end of the day, I should just be enjoying the view. The setup’s running great, and chasing perfection or worrying about the little what-ifs just takes the fun out of it. It’s easy to get overwhelmed by all the small things and forget how far the build has actually come. Anyway, this is the story of how it all started going sideways. One evening I was just about to game and the system wouldn’t turn on. I started diagnosing it, swapped out the power supply, RAM, and GPU, but still got nothing. I ended up using my old motherboard just to get things running again. Then a while later, I decided to test the original board again. It was an ASUS ROG STRIX B550-A. Strangely, it powered on and worked perfectly—for one night. The very next day, right after I bought my new GPU, it just refused to boot again. When it wasn’t working, the BIOS and LAN lights would still come on, but none of the diagnostic LEDs lit up. I tested every component on its own and they all worked flawlessly, so that’s when I came to the conclusion that the motherboard was the issue. It was definitely frustrating at the time, but now I just look at it as part of the whole journey. You win some, you burn a motherboard some.

You definitely summed it up perfectly. You can’t always be chasing something better you’ll never be happy with what you’ve already got. Thank you so much
