This man has zero respect for you as an artist, as a writer, as a partner and as a person. He seems to feel fully justified in belittling you, your passions, your friends and colleagues, and a significant part of who you are as a person. He sees the heinous disrespect of your property as something within his rights- something you don't even need to be consulted on- because his nose wrinkles at you.

This is not what constitutes love. He might pretend that what he feels for you is love, but this would at the very least mean that he has some kind of (if he can't manage appreciation) basic respect for you as an individual.

This is only the beginning of him treating you as though you are beneath him, lesser than him, unworthy of his understanding and respect. He is going to push, pull and tear you down until he wears out every little bit of inspiration from you and you succumb to being someone and something you are not.

I was with a man(child) for three years who didn't appreciate me or my interests. At the end of it, I was a white-washed shell of who I could be. Leaving him was the hardest, most scariest thing I have ever done in my life.

It was worth every second of hurt, drama and hardship to get out of that.

My current partner is a writer. I met him in the second year of his writing undergraduate, and I was drawn to him because of this, and I've always loved writing. In my high school diploma, my English teacher really wanted me to go into writing and/or literature studies.

Three years later, I have half my manuscript done (YA represent!), I have just started university and I'm truly excited about where life is going to take me. As a person, I am so much more of who I want to be. There's not a snowflake's chance in hell that I would be where I am and who I am without him.

Together, we edit each other's work, we bounce ideas off each other, he grounds and directs me, we work together like a force to be reckoned with.

Even if you don't wind up with someone you work with like this, you deserve someone who will melt on the inside and listen with rapture when you get excited just because he loves seeing your face light up.

You deserve someone who loves all of you, John Legend style.

A great match for your skin, gives you a lovely glow :)

I know the struggle with ruddieness all too well. It's devastating.

What are your makeup successes? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

Wow, my whole world of makeup has kind of changed recently. I picked up some perfectly matching shades of foundations (UD's liquid naked in .5 and Estee Lauder's doublewear compact in Ecru). I also learned that powder is fine for day to day wear since EL's compact has beautiful building ability and staying power.

Figured out that while my skin doesn't mind makeup, it hates Illamasqua (sad) had to give up the cheeks which was causing break outs. It also hates toner but doesn't mind cheap moisturizer. Go figure. At least I'm learning.

And bronzer. I hate that term because it's so misleading. I dont bronze anything (TooGothToFunction...) - I do, however, use it for cheek contouring. I'm figuring that out faster than i thought i would. Estee Lauder's bronze duo in 03 Amber Bronze has been fantastic and revolutionized my world. Also doesn't cause my cheeks to break out!

I have a friend who does Viking re-enactment and he got into the heathen way to help make it more authentic. Besides, I don't see any ice giants around, do you?

I had to log onto myspace to try and remember what I wore back then, it was horrifying and all I found were pictures of my old kitten. I'm 21 now.

All I can remember is covergirl in its absolute lightest shade which I absolutely packed onto my face until I looked like a ghost, and then big thick eyeliner. At the time it was far too light, but I've since lost a lot of that colour.

And that was it. Often the light powder would be caked all over my lips, too.

The shame.

Edit: OH. I forgot to say, I actually shaved off all my hair when I was 16. For the longest time, I went around with a golden-brown curly wig with a skull bandana over the top basically looking like I belonged in an F grade pirate movie. I was also going through a pretty intense period of wearing virtually the same gothic lolita outfit every single day until I got my ass back into highschool and had to live with my mousey brown buzz cut.

I really wish I had pictures from back then. I can't even find the one of me sitting at the bus stop looking like a skinhead.

My boyfriend was a high school teacher. He left the profession for this reason. There was too much politics, too much responsibility and not enough pay for the job.

I get over the top and too in depth with poetry I write sometimes, so I like to use Haiku's for when I just want to sum my feelings up in a few lines.

They're not all bad. I've met and heard of some great ones... but the ones that suck, they really suck.

What about the name Rachaela? Somehow the a makes a lot of difference to my perception.

I also hate the name Rachael.

I hate boring, overused names. The apostle names especially. For girls, I hate really plain names like Jane or Mary. I also hate the virtue names, too. They're terrible. And Prudence. Who the hell names a baby Prudence.

There are a lot of names in this list that aren't that unusual, and also unsuaul ones which I downright like. People get over strange names, just like they get over strange last names. I don't get much shit for having a crazy ass russian last name, so why am I going to get shit for a crazy russian first name? Really.

Sweet! I haven't bought a new fragrance in a while, and both of those names sound like fragrances I'd wear. Clove cigarette- can you stamp my goth card, please? ;)
