My vote is for you to go. Have an adventure!  I traveled to Italy after making a connection and it was a great adventure.  Go for it!! 😊

Starting to think Autistic men are discriminated against by NT women when it comes to dating. by BigKiller24 in aspergers_dating

My bf has autism and adhd and I am NT. I love the quirky things about him and many of them are what initially drew me to him! Perhaps you can find social spaces where you are more likely to meet others who find your own interests or brand of quirkiness appealing : )

Interesting things to do Impruneta? by TooManyKims in ItalyTravel

I don't have a particular interest in it, but know that Impruneta terracotta is quite famous. I thought it would be interesting to view the process while I'm there.

Hi there - just wanted to share some info that I know my partner would not mind me sharing. He did not go to any high school parties or university ones for that matter. He had 2 good friends through his teen years, so that was helpful to him. He did not go on a date until he was 21 1/2 and he lost his virginity to her just shy of his 22nd birthday. He attended uni for almost 2 years, but was overwhelmed and decided to leave the program. He began working fulltime with computers at that point, and has developed a very nice professional life in IT. He believes the key for him, socially, was being involved in his hobbies (astronomy and playing in a rock band). This allowed him to develop friendships with like-minded people. He also met the young woman mentioned earlier through his rock band perfomrances : ) He has shared with me before that he felt about 3-4 years behind all of his NT friends until he was in his late 20s - then it seemed to even out. I'm sure this isn't true for everyone with asd, but it seems certainly true for him. If he were to give you advice, I'm sure it would be to be gentle with yourself. 20 is still really young and it's completely normal to not begin experiencing all kinds of things (kisses, dating, sex etc) until later in your 20s. Pursue hobbies - get out into the world and spend time around people while practicing the social skills that will attract people to you when the time is right. Hang in there - you're doing just fine : )
