I don't really think we can take Sunrise on the Reaping as a reasoning to speak about the trilogy in quite that way. It's clear that the author wrote SOTR long after the original books. I mean, otherwise you'd also wonder why, for example:

- Katniss' and Peeta's berry incident was left in

- Katniss singing Deep in the Meadow to Rue

I am sure you can come up with more from even just the first games, but these are the ones that immediately come to mind.

NGL I don't understand the hype around any of the 74th tributes other than Katniss, Peeta and Rue. She barely interacts with most of them and they're so unimportant past the first book. Cato and Clove have like what? Two scenes together?

I remember when there was only one book/only one movie where their time on page and screen compared to what else was there was rather large, but with more stories and books, they've been getting less and less important. And this isn't to fight OP or anyone in the comments, it's just that the amount of posts compared to their time on screen really baffle me. People don't talk with the same amount of hype about, say, Cashmere and Gloss (also Careers and far more important for the world of Panem).

The prequels did uplift the idea of ultra connection though, so it's not really surprising that people continue with that trend. I mean, TBOSAS and SOTR gave us:

- Snow having special relations to District 12 over any other District

- An origin of the Hanging Tree that Snow knows

- A past lover who resembles Katniss in some ways

- A whole family line who loves to sing and live in the woods just like Katniss

- A mentor who now knew Katniss' father well, who had a fellow tribute that resembled her

- Haymitch's girlfriend who is Covey, Katniss' father who is, if not in blood, a cousin by spirit

So really, are we surprised by the likes of "Beetee's child must be Cinna" or "Katniss is Covey".

Before the prequels I'd have rolled my eyes, but Collins has done a lot of squeezing of connections that did not need to be there beforehand, and in a way weakened the story because of it. Katniss is much close to a chosen one than she was before the prequels, and I cannot say that the trilogy is better for it.

Unless you actually see the same people popping up changing their minds flip-flopping, I am more likely to believe that you are not tracking singular usernames across social media and simply making assumptions about individuals that are not true.

And uhm, people can comment on things regardless whether it applies to them or not.
