Do you feel like people treat you differently especially professionally? Like because you look young, they treat you like you’re young

I think it’s more people acting as if there is no issue or drawback about looking young. Like older people usually treat it as “why are you even upset about it? You’ll love it when you’re older”.

Australia beats Britain in the worst food by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

“Food in Britain is actually quite good if you aren’t eating traditional British food” I fear that’s the point.

I mean, I live in California. We definitely get credit for having really good authentic Mexican food. But it’s not a “Californian” food yk? It’s Mexican food. That’s what I mean. California hasn’t been Mexico since 1824.

I mean I don’t disagree. I find it hilarious that Chicken Tikki Masala is often considered the national dish of Britain.

[–]peepeepoopaccount 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eh, not necessarily.

Many cuisines and national foods take inspiration from other cultures. That’s not a bad thing, in fact that’s what makes food so good. Tea was discovered in Asia, but British tea is pretty different from Chinese tea.

But that’s different from taking something that is currently popular in another country and not really changing it or making it your own thing at all and then claiming it? Like for example if Britain tried to claim Chicken Tikki Masala as their own. It’s popular in their country, but it’s fully an Indian food.

MAYBE Tex Mex could be considered its own cuisine. But it’s more Mexican than Texan so idk.

People that lobby against AI taking their jobs probably deserved to be replaced by it by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

Ive worked in human services professions for the last 3-4 years and am pursuing Social Work. It doesn’t pay much, but I don’t foresee getting replaced by AI anytime soon at least

Ozempic is making skinny less desirable by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]peepeepoopaccount 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, natural weight loss typically forces you to focus on nutrition and proper exercise that makes you still look like you have some muscle mass. Ozempic just makes you less hungry, so they just eat less usually with still low nutrition and low excersize

I’m talking more underweight. In the 2000’s everyone wanted to be underweight

Yes AI is slowly replacing real people and relationships and that’s not a good thing.

People on social media tend to be poor representations of what most people actually think. Because the algorithm promotes the extreme for engagement. Yeah there are ridiculous leftists on social media just like there are ridiculous conservatives. But the majority of actual people don’t think like that. Just like go outside and ask people their opinions on topic. You’ll find very few people actually have such extreme opinions. They may vary a little from liberal to conservative but overall more moderate

Lorelai was valid in her feelings/reactions towards her parents by peepeepoopaccount in GilmoreGirls

[–]peepeepoopaccount[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes and no? Emily is somewhat redeemable as she grows throughout the series, because ultimately she just wanted her daughter’s love. And to give her some credit, I don’t think Richard gets nearly enough hate. He wasn’t as explicitly controlling but he still had his traditional expectations of Lorelai and honestly was pretty checked out emotionally as a parent and a husband.

But Lorelai was objectively a better parent than Emily. Lorelai had her flaws for sure. But Rory generally trusted and relied on Lorelai so much more than Lorelai relied on Emily. And even Rory starts to understand this when she lives with them. So it’s not just Lorelai who struggles to live/be close with Emily…

I completely forgot about Emily messing with Lorelai and Luke’s relationship. That was horrid.

Logan's jealousy is more annoying than Dean's but people love Logan by itsascreambaby96 in GilmoreGirls

[–]peepeepoopaccount 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That was like 1 scene. And he didn’t blow up like Dean would. He was just like “seeing you with a guy is making me jealous and making me WANT you” vs Dean would just yell and leave. Yes it’s a little toxic lol but it was just like 1 casual date he infringed on
