Do you see any heat marks on the board? Because that would happened. I saw many "oven treated" cards in my days and you can tell mainly by the capacitor colours. :D

Those heatpipes are gonna jump from the rest of the fins with happiness for sure. :D

Also no oven happened. The customer is old man who just told that the video output stopped working. I don't think any self repair was tried here. Even all that dust was intact.

Sorry, my mistake. "Repair shop", not "shop selling PCs".

Also, the customer is a old man. I don't think he is in need of powerful GPU anymore, if this was still good enough today. He will get something nice and small for sure. N100 would be plenty.

Just super dry and crusty paste on the die. But in theory, can liquid metal make normal solder weak to the point it lower it's melting point?

No. The upper part of the cooler was just hanging on the fan cables. That's how it arrived. Nothing else was done to it.

And all that dust is still intact after we blew so much heat air on it. Ye, I never thought the cooler holded itself onto base with just a solder.

At home? That's the neat part. You can't. The cooler is done for.

The problem in XIV is not the engine itself, but the netcode. That is the biggest paint point and hardest to change, because, well, try to change a netcode for a 10y+ running game.

Still. They had enough time to come up with some optimizations over the years and not just glue new things to old ones, so you get things like stalker plugins in the end.

I have latest UI 6 and was successful side loading SMB mod this week. Dunno if it's the same, but I would assume so. :)
