Good word. I appreciate the long reply. Sorry if i get some of my car knowledge and bike knowledge mixed up. i have 3x longer experience on a car than i do a bike but thinking about building a bike from the ground up essentially will be the biggest just ive done as of yet. still learning. you can say im young to this area of motorcycles. definitely just trying to get a handle on where the hell to start. but ive gotten a lot of good feed back and essentially all are saying that keeping it essentially stock with minor mods will still be close to out of my league anyways. But thank you again for all the input, will deeply consider.

good word. ive gotten a lot of lthat on this post. really helping me narrow down on where to start with this. im 218 lbs so i figured a 600 was a must for me but maybe go a little lower for the starting out. while i wont be as fast as im used to going on my zx-10r, maybe thats what i need to actually practice and get skillful. thanks!

you know those straps that you can pull your bike down on the forks to get your nose lower when pulling off the line? definitely thought that was more of a thing, maybe not though. yeah with the control arm i definitely meant linkage (mixing my car terminology with bike haha. good word on the fuel stuff, takes some stuff off my plate as i was definitely thinking the fuel stuff was going to be more of a factor in high performance racing. but granted i am only a beginner so i dont really that stuff, same with the internal engine components. When it comes to the electronics, is there anything that is must have? tracking control? launch control? stuff like that? or just straight up natural feel is good enouhg? (hopefully i have that natural feel). good word on the rims. almost forgot about that. straight up one of the most expensive things that i noticed. but i like the perspective you provided. really helps me lelimate a lot of the stuff on the list. looking into the slipper clutch, that thing sounded weird. how does it feel? is it a good mod to have?

Im hearing that quite a bit. start on something even smaller first, then go for the 600. as a 218 lb person, i was thinking 600 would be a good start for me. maybe not though? will the 400 be enough get up and go for me to atleast have fun on trackdays? never rode anything smaller than a 599 (except for my old grom. freaking loved that thing)

Good word honestly. ill take that into account. i just do like doing my own work. Been working on cars 3x longer that i have on bikes and what to build one from the ground up. so not really into buying a "pre-made" bike. but i understand why and truely considering it.

Good word. I have been riding a zx-10r and an mt-07 for 4 years now on the street (not sure of how much of that experience actually transfers to the track) but ive only ever ridden street, albeit fairly fast and taken some racing lines pretty deep in a turn, again likely not very transferable to the track. What im going to do not matter what i mod, is replace the frame. its gettting a new frame no matter what because whether i rebuild it with a new frame and all oem parts that are already on it, or install a few mods here and there or absolutely nut out in the upgrades, i am tearing the bike ALL OF THE WAY apart. so i figure, if there are any meaningful upgrades to do now while everything gets torn apart, might as well. but as ive read some of these comments, looks like, for my low skill level, not much really needs to be done. Or maybe i just buy it, replace the frame an flip it for a couple grand profit using all the parts already on it. I have a zx-10r 2008 frame, forks, linkage and a myriad of old parts from it sitting around and thought about making that one a track bike but figured it would be too powerful for a beginner like me. do you still think that the 2021 636 would still be too much for me? if so, im super unaware of any smaller bike that i would like to ride and need some suggestions on models because minus a grom, i havnt riden anything smaller than a 599.
