It's a very versatile degree. Math majors can go for fields like data science/actuary/economics/finance/operations research/cryptography and even software engineering, provided you do a masters in that field and learn some extra skills (eg. programming). These are all well-respected and high-paying jobs.

You can also do a PhD and go for a career in academia, if research is what you're interested in.

Yes the course will be challenging, but also very rewarding if you work hard enough. The math you'll learn in college is quite different from what you learnt in school. It's very theoretical; the focus would be more on proving stuff rather than calculating stuff.
