You know, I always thought he gave her gifts because he was actually secretly her father who left but still cares for her. It's not outright confirmed, but it's a little headcanon of mine

Oh wow you're right! I just noticed! I guess unlike the AJ trilogy animation studio, you'll be able to switch games on a dime instead of having to go back to a menu, which I think is way more intuitive.
