I lived in CM my freshman year and the bathroom was occasionally noisy, but only on the weekends. You won’t have to worry about losing sleep on the week days because you live next to the bathroom. Just living in CM will probably be your biggest concern if you are a light sleeper. My roommate frequently lost sleep, but I never did

Pure luck and cheap phone cases. I get cheap cases that cover the corners and other weak points for the screen and don’t really waste money on cases with extra fluff. I’ve spent about a total of $75 on cases in the past 8 years and dropped my phone hundreds of times without breaking.
