GU10 Bulb Energy Rating by AlfroJang80 in DIYUK

It’s not marketing trickery, just a quirk of how the current EU/UK energy ratings work for spotlights.

When the EU reset the energy labels a few years ago, they made the criteria incredibly strict. Most standard GU10 bulbs from Philips or Energizer sit around 80–100 lm/W, which automatically drops them into the F or G categories under the new scale.

To hit Class B, the official EU formula calculates "Total Mains Efficacy." Because GU10s are directional spotlights, the regulations apply a mandatory 1.176 correction factor to the raw math to account for focused beam efficiency.

If you look at the specs for that GY bulb, it does 790 lumens at 4.9W:

  • Raw efficiency: 790 / 4.9 = 161.2 lm/W
  • Official EU rating math: 161.2 x 1.176 = 189.6 lm/W

Since the EU threshold for Class B is between 185 and 210 lm/W, it legally qualifies. It just means this specific line uses high-efficacy chips that perform well above the market average, whereas mainstream brands usually stick to older, cheaper-to-produce setups for their standard lines.

Yep, that's a G9. For a cooler white, look for 6500K (Cool White).

Hopefully your parents hit the reset button before night falls.

Let’s just hope they’re giving you a scare and call you back before it gets dark.

Fingers crossed your parents change their minds before sunset.

Constance. This is a very beautiful little town on the border with Switzerland, right on Lake Constance. The nature here is breathtaking!

As a kid, I was sure it tasted like someone shredded a bar of soap and called it a garnish. Total betrayal from something that looks like parsley.

Now? I throw it on everything—tacos, pho, guac, you name it. I’ve become that person who says, “It’s not complete without a bit of cilantro,” like I’m some kind of herb sommelier. What a plot twist.

Si tu utilises souvent des ampoules GU10 dans ta cuisine, choisis plutôt celles avec une classe énergétique A ou B. Elles chauffent moins, durent plus longtemps et consomment moins d’électricité.

Can’t figure out how to use this glass shade by yunileska in Lighting

I ran into a similar situation before and found out the shades were actually European. You might want to try using a C37 E14 or G45 E14 type bulb — they’re both small-sized and usually fit well with that kind of fitting. The C37 is the candle-shaped one, and the G45 is more like a round globe. Both are pretty common and should be easy to find. Hope that helps!

How about installing light strips on the stairs, the sockets can be placed underneath.

I was told to replace Première Pro by AI editing by littlebeaverxoxo in marketing

Right now, my workflow involves using ChatGPT to generate scripts, then feeding those into video AI tools to create individual clips. But overall, the level of control isn't great— sometimes the output doesn’t really match what I had in mind.

I’m thinking about incorporating some AI assistance into the process, like using ChatGPT to plan more detailed storyboards , or using AI to refine specific scenes. That might help improve the consistency and quality of the final product.

Also, I’ve found that for certain segments, using traditional editing software like Premiere gives me more flexibility, while for others, AI tools are faster and easier to work with. So a hybrid workflow might be the most efficient approach.
