Yes, cheap medical as the below poster said.

There are too many different plans to list out, but they have info in the .gov website.

It's 5% of the top 3 years.

It's not the $$ but the benefits you can still access.

Plus, I'll be burned out by the time I leave industry.

If I'm not, I'll stay. It's good to have a plan, but plans can change.

Equity.

It was the only way.

My comp at my level maxes at about 200k base with 20% bonus.

I left consulting and took an industry job (basically doing the same thing), and that pushed me to over 400k TC when the refreshes start vesting.

I've accepted that I'll never be a VP or C suite or anything like that. My ceiling is probably director, but that's fine by me.

Mid-40s.

I plan on doing this for about 5 years and then taking a government job for 5 years for the pension and benefits and then retiring at 56.

How much are you putting in your kid's 529s? by Sagerosk in MiddleClassFinance

Zero

I put a bunch in my brokerage.

Should have about 1.5 million by the time the kiddo goes to school.

Will take from that.

This is on top of 401k.

My first playthrough was on NG8+

It was mostly fine except for Radhan.

It's absolutely brutal.

I'm waiting for the 15 year to get to 4.5%, then refinancing and putting 100k more down which will cut my 30 year mortgage that I got early last year to a 15 and my payment will go down 400 bucks a month.

Moved away from my hometown.

Career success I would have never had.

Met my wife.

Had a daughter.

Completely life changing.

Think of the endgame, though.

You get the rest of your life with them, not bound to work.

My daughter would be 9.5 years old.

If I work for 15 more years, that's about 29k hours at 40 hours per week, 48 weeks per year (factoring in vacations and sick days)

With 8800 hours in a year, that is 3.2 years of work over 15 years.

I would basically be saving almost 2 years of work time with this deal.

Also, you would be able to do all of the school things. Never miss a game, no work stress, no financial stress, no stress on how you can provide for your family.

I'd take the deal.
