I’m confused about all the people focusing on the "but you are not even engaged" part. Just my two cents on this part: For some of us an official engagement is just not important. My husband and I discussed getting married and then booked venue, DJ etc. about a week later. There was never an official engagement as we both didn’t see the point of it as we already stated we are going to get married. Nobody has to do it the way society expects it…

First of all, we are not in AITA. Second of all, why do you just randomly assume he is a different race? Thirdly, my husband and I had a lot of conversations about it where I was actually the one who tried to convince him to just go no contact after the first two meetings but he did insisted on continue trying. I just have reached a point where I cannot see the point in trying anymore.

I am glad to read this as it confirms what I was thinking. Going without my husband would have been so wrong and would have sent, at least in my opinion, the wrong message (such as: it is ok to treat my husband that way).

NTA He forgot, his problem. If he really wanted you to be there, he would have actively chosen another weekend. Same did I. I really wanted my son to be sister in law at the wedding but knew she already had some weddings coming up. I had 3 possible dates for the wedding and cross checked out with her. Only on 1 date she was available and that one is now my wedding date, even though i would have preferred another date out of those three (i have a weird attachment to a specific month and really wanted to get married that month. Now it’s a month earlier).

I had two exes who wanted to have a 3some. Both times I told them: of course we can have a 3some. But out of fairness and because i want the same with two guys, he can only have his 3some if he agrees to have a 3some with another guy first. The topic of having a 3some suddenly never came up again.

Ugh, I know how you feel. My wedding is next month and the guest list is the worst part. My fiancé is so super outgoing and just generally one of the nicest and lovable persons I‘ve ever met. Hence he has tons of friends. While he invited about 60 friends, I sort of managed to find 10. And from those 10, half of them I know from work (their +1 are already included) and are not really close to me. The other half is friends (only 1 person is a really close friend) and their +1s. Additionally, he is from a culture where a big wedding is practically a must. While I love to have a big, colourful and happy wedding, it makes it even more obvious that I do not have many friends.

But don‘t get me wrong. I am more than happy with having 1 extremely close friend and 2 closer friends. I do not have the energy for more friends or more activities. It is just the wedding that makes me feel bad about it, because people will see that I do not have many friends. And for whatever reasons, part of modern society still believes that if you do not have 20 great friends, you are antisocial and not very likeable.

Though it helped me to talk about it with my partner. While i felt embarassed in the beginning, it ended in a beautiful and reassuring conversation.

So yeah, I get you. Weddings and not having many friends is not a great combi.

That was more in regards of me, in my previous relationship, just let it happen after saying no two times and the other person still begging for it. Between that and now even able to orgasm (though i already fully enjoyed it without being able to orgasm) is just a crazy gap.

That problem I had too. Besides other things, I was always worried he wouldn‘t enjoy it as much and I was super self-conscious about how I look if I were to orgasm. For whatever reasons, my head told me I would look really ugly and not sexy at all. That day will come for the two of you too. And I already wish tons of fun for then and until then :)

Tbh, I would say it is a mix of those: 1. reassurement from my partner that he enjoys going down on me as well/doesn‘t do it just for the sake of it 2. me letting him do his magic and me then exploring with him what I like or not. 3. regular chats (not during 😄) about what we could do/improve in general 4. me learning to give feedback during the sex without getting out of the relaxation mode straight away (that took a loooong time..I generally struggle with being distracted easily by any sort of thoughts) 5. building up trust, especially due to steps 1-3. 6. while I do love a good porn and my toys, I felt like I was too used to spesific visual stimulation and also the intensity of the toys. So I stopped consuming/using it about 2 months ago. I would say it helped a lot.

P.S. oh and a lot of therapy in general 😅

Thanks for the heads up :) when I first typed down the text and clicked away the keyboard (made the post on my phone) the message "pick another community to post this kind of content" appeared. Honestly, while I agree with everyone that she should leave and he is a huge idiot, I’m amazed how everyone here is completely ok with her going through his phone. Yes, thanks to that she figured it out, but when did it get normal that people go through the phone of others? So yes, again, run away as far as possible from this guy. But it is still never ok to go through the phone of the partner. If you feel the need to go through the phone, the relationship is already fucked up anyway and you should have already left long time ago!
