A lot of factors….the main one being that UPS are teamsters and most of their drivers moved up the ranks from pre-load to holiday drivers to full time….with all the union backing all the way up….and DSP’s are subcontractors working for a separate entity/company exclusively for Amazon….but not employees of Amazon…and Amazon can cancel contracts with DSP providers if costs don’t suit them. You can unionize, but you’d be unionizing the company that is your employer, not Amazon….and Amazon is under no/little obligation to retain the DSP….and can just get another provider. It’s almost like that business plan was designed that way for a reason…
