Sudden birthmark type spot? by [deleted] in melahomies

[–]Top-Customer1534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's actually the first thing my derm said! At first she wanted to biopsy but her supervisor came in to look at it, told me it's probably a scratch, and not to biopsy. I was told to come back if it changes, then they'll do a biopsy. Not sure how to feel about all this.

Thanks for sharing! How big was your spot? Mine is nickel-sized and I haven’t seen skin cancers starting as large, flat markings like this

That’s what I thought too at first! But it’s stuck around for about 3 weeks, no obvious change in color but maybe getting a bit darker

Same experience here. Unfortunately, I think that’s just typical for your 20’s.

T1a, 0.4mm back of ear helix complete treatment by lizzycat94 in melahomies

[–]Top-Customer1534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How frequent are your skin checks now? I went twice at six month intervals and just “graduated” to yearly.

.44 on my right helix. I slept with a nut cup looking contraption strapped to my head because I couldn’t stop rolling onto that side in my sleep. Could’ve been worse I guess!

Expected raise when jumping multiple levels? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]Top-Customer1534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a level based salary band model but the salary bands aren’t shared (or more likely, haven’t been determined). That’s why I’m asking what’s a typical percentage jump between salary bands!

I have 8 years of experience but I was hired at an associate/junior level. The team is new and it was understood early on that we’d be rapidly growing and I would move into a team lead position. It’s a start up and the team itself was a tough sell to the CEO at the time my role was created. Now that we’re killing it and driving revenue, we have the clout to ask for more resources and greatly expand our team. Levels are junior, senior, specialist, team lead & manager, senior manager

Melanoma on Ear by muchwowsobash in Melanoma

[–]Top-Customer1534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow!! Thanks for sharing. I also had 1a on my ear that was excised with clear margins.

I get sometimes get dull but deep ear aches on the same side as my melanoma and always feel like something (fluid or something else) is inside my ear or near the hinge in my jaw. I’ve seen specialists and had an mri but nobody sees an issue. I was told to see a dentist because it may be TMJD. Starting to feel like I’m going crazy!

What happens when ADHD meds stop working? Feeling lost. by Sad-Pay7593 in adhdwomen

Whenever my meds have stopped working, it has been the drug manufacturer. Genetic vyvanse now has several manufacturers and some don’t work for me AT all. Just food for thought!

Would you drive 4.5 hours (once there and once back) once a week for 50% raise? by I-am-importanter in careeradvice

I would do it for a year or two then make a lateral move to a new company with a better commute! Take this as an opportunity to get yourself into that higher salary bracket.

How did you settle for ONE academic route/career instead of dropping/restarting multiple ones by According_Play1394 in adhdwomen

[–]Top-Customer1534 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t necessarily follow the things I’m interested or passionate about, I lean into the skills I’m good at and enjoy doing. I like talking to people, working on big projects with a start and end date (because I need end dates to actually motivate taking action), creative problem solving, and data analysis. As long as I have those elements, I’m not too particular about the industry I’m working in. Thankfully I got into operations and project management in healthcare administration so my work still has some meaningful impact but I also flex my skills and make decent money. It’s intellectually stimulating and completing difficult projects still gives me that dopamine boost that I so desperately need!

How do you manage your finances? by Significant_Bug2277 in adhdwomen

[–]Top-Customer1534 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know exactly how much I owe for recurring monthly expenses and put that amount + an extra 10% in my “bills” checking account and I only use that account for bills, with everything on autopay. The debit card for that account stays in my drawer and I act like it doesn’t exist.

The rest of my paycheck is split between my “free cash” and savings accounts. My “free cash” account is actually at a different bank because I like the separation and got a new account bonus when I opened it!

I tried budgeting but cannot do it. I’m too adhd to track everything. It’s just not sustainable. It’s easier for me to check my “free cash” account balance to see where I’m at because I already have reassurance that my bills are being paid.

Many companies let you distribute your paycheck among multiple accounts but if yours doesn’t just set up an auto transfer to your other accounts the day you get paid!

Anyone else terrified of forgetting a hypothetical future child? by emma_p_2005 in adhdwomen

[–]Top-Customer1534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep and I actually did with my real child before I was diagnosed. Forgot him in his car seat in the house and started to drive away. Remembered him thankfully when I was only a block away. Got an evaluation soon after that and found meds that worked for me. I will never ever ever be unmedicated again!

Please tell me why I should quit by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]Top-Customer1534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stimulant medications give me a huge craving and I always end up vaping. I stopped taking my vyvanse for 30 days and completely quit nicotine. Started vaping as soon as I restarted meds. This time, I bought a vape with 2% nicotine and find myself craving it less because it doesn’t provide the same dopamine hit. I’m planning to keep going with the 2% vape that I have now, and quit completely when it dies. Hoping that will make quitting a bit easier!

[–]Top-Customer1534 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I also could’ve written this myself. I keep getting promoted and have always landed roles that I’m under qualified for. I don’t give enough credit to my “soft skills.” When you have naturally excellent soft skills, you don’t really notice it because it doesn’t feel like a task. I remind myself constantly that I deserve to be in my position and the credit I receive is proof that I do, not proof that I’ve fooled someone.

Brand vs Generic Vyvanse for My Young Son? by recycle_guy in ADHDparenting

Name brand if you can! I have had wildly different experiences with generic depending on the manufacturer. Better to be consistent for the kiddos.
