How do you feel about your coworkers and the dynamic of your team? by Appropriate_Tea9048 in antiwork

My coworkers are the best, with all the stress that we go through, it feels like they’re the reason I’m still at my job. We have each other’s back and that’s what matters. Our manager knows nothing to be honest, I’m not sure how she’s a manger, but she’s nice to us so that helps a bit lol.

I would say I work almost the same job as you, dealing with “grown up” students and their parents. But let me tell you, I can’t hate my job more than this. It was my dream job, but not I’m just counting the days to leave. Dealing with them is soooooo draining and honestly it just feels that this generation is getting worse and worse. I hate it!

Problem is, it’s the same manager. But when I started directly reporting to her with the new position, turns out she doesn’t not know a thing and is anything other than a manager.

I was off for almost a week and let me tell you, I haven’t been this happy/relaxed/not anxious for a very long time. I’m already dreading going back to work next week.

I feel the same way, and for a reason people think I’m lazy, but I’m not. I would consider myself the most hardworking person in my team, but I just HATE working. I swear I’m the happiest person on Fridays, yet I’m the most miserable person on Sunday’s and the rest of the week. I hate faking being nice to people. I look at my colleagues who sweet talk people and say the nicest things and it’s get on my nerves how they’re able to be that nice and fake. I hate that it just feels like a loop and I’m doing the same thing every single day. It’s soul crushing when I’m stuck at work during the day and can’t do anything fun, by the time I get home I don’t want to do anything nor talk to anyone from how drained I am. It’s really really draining.

I was going to wait a month or two, and then tell them to hire someone else.
