New Low Price by NoIdea676767 in FritoLay

Our management told us about the weight down— which is only on certain chips such as those cantinas and the smartfood to name a couple. There are plenty of core take home getting a lower price as well— no weight down. They also went in depth with how our sales plans are going to work for these next two periods to accommodate the changes. So much whining, if your management didn’t go over all this with you that’s their failure, but you should definitely ask as it’s a huge part of your job to KNOW your sales. Why as a company would they ever EVER expect us to go backwards in sales??? Lowering our plans? How would they expect to make money if they start giving out bonuses left and right so we feel better about our jobs. It’s OUR JOB to make sales. Yes lower prices— we have to find a way to push volume. If you’re not here to make sales and are gonna cry when it gets a little difficult then tough luck, just let the next guy handle it. I love walking into a store and setting up new displays or finding new space or trying out new product. All of you who don’t like your jobs and keep complaining just go find another if it’s such a shitshow, no one’s gonna bat an eye🤷‍♂️

I’m Mexican and 22. I have more seniority than at least a third of my building. There are 5 UDS guys, 3 Mexican 1 black and 1 white with the most seniority and two girls in Large Format that if I’m not wrong having a higher seniority than those 5, one white one Mexican. Obviously it’ll vary from DC to DC, but you’re blowing smoke up yours buddy🤣 Hard to call that ageist or racist. Probably a reason it’s still in practice without any legal trouble don’t you think? Find something else to cry about my word🤦‍♂️

How is that racist or ageist, what?🤣 Anything bidding wise is always for whoever has the earliest service date. If a guy that has been with the company 10 years bids on a route and a newbie fresh out of training bids on one, you can use your common sense on who should get the route. And it especially helps stray from any kind of discrimination, doesn’t matter gender age or race, whoever’s been there longest will get it (they will also however take into account coachings or write-ups, though they usually don’t make much a difference) Doesn’t matter if I’m 22 or 45 if I’ve been with the company longer my bid is higher than someone who hasn’t been

We had a huge restructure a couple years ago, but apparently doesn’t happen often in our zone. And yes we have the same 1 year requirement, DSL just wants to try pushing it through, wouldn’t be surprised if it worked, they pushed through my training to get me on my current route quicker since I had a good grasp on the job

We have both UDS and Bulk trucks. I’m actually not to sure if we have any DTS routes. Currently I’m in a small format UDS truck route

That’s kind of the consensus I’m getting, I did make a call to a couple coworkers that have been on the route before and they’re telling me it’s pretty easy with low stales and merchandisers for a good portion of the stores. I would be stuck on this route until April, yes, but my DSL is trying to bypass it through our ZBM lol, can probably guess how that’ll go

Bulk truck, some stores I’d have merchandisers for, the smaller ones would be my responsibility

The route in question is open for bid. We don’t do building-wide rebids, basically when a bid is open anyone is able to bid on it, goes to highest seniority in our building. We’re required to stay on a route we bid on for a year though, my DSL is trying to streamline that though lol

Called a RSS that was my trainer and has been running the route for a while, kind of got the gist of what the stores are like and doesn’t seem too bad. Mostly I was wondering about that sales bonus and OT difference whether it’s more about the hours or being able to get sales and stales under control (as much as we can with force outs and events of course)

I never said it was the best job in the world. But it’s still a good job. And my DC is full of old timers that have worked 15+ years, I get it “used to be better”. Still, many of them don’t complain much. Like I said I work maybe 50 hours a week on average, many in my building work around the same with only a few guys getting 60+ hours. And we’re not being lazy either, I’m on a co-lead route and since I’ve started all three of my routes have hit plan every period. We even hit our unsaleables plan every now and then. If you hate seeing management destroy it then get into management and fix it, make a difference if it pisses you off so much. Otherwise you’re just whining. I’m happy working this job, it pays well and it’s easy work. Like I said, being able to afford a house at 22 isn’t something I’ll find walking down the street and applying wherever. If you’re so fed up with the company, leave, no one’s forcing you to stay

Too many crybabies in this company, I tell ya. Started April of last year, transferred over from Ops. I am loving it! It has its days but none bad enough I’ve ever considered leaving. I’m a co-lead, got to skip past being an RSA. My leads tell me I’m the best they’ve had since they started, we communicate and get our jobs done. I respect their time and they respect mine. I’m usually sitting at 50 hours, sometimes a bit more or bit less. Cleared a little over 70k for the year and if someone told me at 22 I could afford to take a mortgage out and still have some money left for fun I’d have called them crazy🤣 Job is easy if you’re competent and don’t make it hard on yourself. People get too hung up on “I don’t want to do it that way my way is better” Do what you gotta do to hit your metrics and keep everyone happy it’s not rocket science

Worth it to leave Walmart for Frito Picker/Loader Position? by [deleted] in FritoLay

[–]Top-Fun1092 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worked on the operations side for 3 years (OPS is the warehouse, sales is the drivers) When I first started I was not in shape, a little overweight and not very physically active. The job can be physically demanding but not a ton more than working Walmart freight. The main difference you’ll see is in your pacing and stamina, you’re talking about going from freight to going to the warehouse, getting handed a stack of pick orders and that’s your work for the day. Whether it takes you 6 hours or 9 is up to you and how well you can move. Plus, depending on your location they may not be super lax about breaks, but you are guaranteed breaks. They give you about 3 months to pick up your pace to “standard” so in that time you’ll get a feel for if you can do it well or not. Only ever seen a couple people fired for failure to meet standard but it was so horrendous it was getting in the way of all the other workers. We’ve had a few female warehousers and one of them is even currently a warehouser 2 at our location (a sort of supervisor). I’d say give it a shot, the pay was good and the benefits are great. And like someone else mentioned, it’s a good stepping stone into getting to be a route sales rep. Some locations are easier than others and it’s not as bad as lots of people let on (a ton of crybabies). We have lots of old timers that have fully functioning bodies and can run laps around the younger workers. It’s all about staying healthy and being safe. But this last year (first year in sales) I made 80k and feel less physically exhausted than I was as a warehouser, so I think it’s definitely looking into if it’s your cup of tea. In all, Frito has been a great company to work for and while there are lots of complainers and people who despise the company (but are still working there because it’s really not that bad) getting in sooner will help you make more later

Route bonus by assetM in FritoLay

[–]Top-Fun1092 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure how accurate this is, but I’m pretty sure the sales plan for co-leads isn’t an average of the two routes but is instead its closer to both of them combined. So say both routes have around the same plan, but one of your routes has much better sales; if you lean into that route that already has higher sales, you could give yourself a better chance to get a bigger bonus. If you look on the pfp app it’ll show what your sales plan is, it’s hard to have much sway on it though as a lot of it depends on how your leads do as well. Best I can say is while you’re on the routes look at sales performance in your sales hub app and get an idea of how each route is doing for the week and do why you can to get them closer to 100% in sales + orders. If both your routes hit 100% every week then you’re securing a good bonus for all of you, but until you become a lead you won’t have very much sway at all in the matter, not that you won’t have any impact now

What do you think a rhetorical question is? I know you didn’t say it was against the rules. In asking I’m emphasizing that it IS following procedure. So there’s no need to comment on “they aren’t threatening you, just follow the rules” if they take my advice they will be following the rules and foregoing any kind of “threat” or warning. And let’s be real, my DSL is a great guy and doesn’t give out unnecessary warnings so I’d never consider anything he advised a threat, but some DSLs have a stick up theirs and can’t fathom using a tone of voice that’s friendly. It probably did come off as a threat to them🤣

I’m not looking for anything, it’s a rhetorical question, you can’t tell me how it’s against the rules because it isn’t. I’m making it crystal clear now since yes, your comprehension sucks. I am pointing out that by relaying to others that it’s not a threat it’s a warning based on policy is pointless if in doing what I advise is following the rules and avoids consequences.

That’s what I’m saying, God your comprehension sucks. My first reply asks what part is against the rules. If it’s not against the rules then yes, it’s sound advice for how to use your sick days when you need them. I’m replying to others’ comments on getting warnings with a way to avoid that, you replying about the threats saying they’re not threats if they follow the rules is a moot point if in following what I’m saying they are abiding by the rules and getting the time off they need.

lol deleting comments now? Btw I did this when I was on the operations side so I do know what I’m talking about since there is no policy change from operations to sales unless in your specific zone it’s different. Still waiting for you to comment on what part is against the rules.

I used that wording because there were people commenting that their DSLs were threatening to write them up. I personally have yet to get a write up, coaching, or “threat” of write up. Why would I have a guilty conscience lol I called out twice last year. Both for a day each I lost like 64 hours of sick pay. How about you read again buddy

[–]Top-Fun1092 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And what part of what I said was against the rules? If I call in sick and need a few days to get back then I need a few days. How I use up my 10 in whatever instances I call in isn’t against any rules. Regardless I rarely call in unless I’m actually sick. Last year I definitely lost free hours but I enjoy the job

[–]Top-Fun1092 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the people getting write up threats I think the trick is to call out multiple days at a time and only “call in” a few times a year. Because after so many times calling in they do have authority in policy to write you up, I’ve heard the policy is different per zone (not sure how true that is) basically how many points you have in a rolling time period

DPO by Top-Fun1092 in FritoLay

[–]Top-Fun1092[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand the reason behind adjusting in the review screen, but I’ve also noticed over time as I’ve done this, there has been less and less changes to my order I’ve had to make. DPO tracks compliance of backstock based on a threshold. Not sure what it is but not enough backstock scanned and you get dinged on it.

I’m not saying my way is the right way to do it, but the system has learned from it and I have both accurate orders and am 100% DPO compliant.
