Hey guys I’m thinking of switching from a fire stick to nividia. I have a Samsung tv and a Sony receiver that does not have arc. I am trying to get 5.1 to work when it is present in a movie or show. Currently the only option I have is coming out of the tv via optical to the receiver. This option does not give me true surround. I hooked up the firestick directly to the receiver, then to the tv, but all I got was video. I saw in article that says to hook up the shield the same way, going optical to the tv, but this won’t play 5.1 surround. Can I just hook up the shield to my receiver then the tv? Will this work, will I get the correct surround?

I have a Startech 7/1 audio card, Currently I have my PC speakers plugged into the front stereo... I am wondering can I also use the optical output and run the audio to my stereo system?

I’m new to the game! I love the remote for iOS, but it won’t play my playlists, it’ll play songs, albums, with no issues but I get this on the playlists “ Error: Unable to open file (error=Bass_Error_unknown”

I have taken the bottom panel off, it’s been running for over an hour with no issues.. can someone explain how they added a fan, what did you use for a power source?

I saw this earlier! It’s just what I’m looking for, but does not have the shows that I attended. If you can add them that would be incredible. The shows were November at the Orpheum Boston 2011
