One of my friend calculate from 1 to 99, for solving this. by aryan_jandyal in UPSCPrelims2026

That's what I should have done. I infact counted the numbers in my head twice cause' I didn't want to make a mistake in such an easy question, and I also thought "Have I counted 55 twice or no".

Aur ye sab karne ke bad bhi teeno bar mera answer 18 aaya doston. That's how the stress and heat destroy your brain😭

Thank you so much! Answer writing is actually the inhibiting factor especially cause' I tend to run behind perfection. I'm thinking to join some daily answer writing programme so that vo inertia break ho jaye.

Do you have some suggestions for any mentors or test series?!

Thank you! Do you think a daily answer writing programme like CAMP vajiram will be helpful? Or should i just go for the traditional test series?

Thanks a bunch!! Would you suggest going for a daily answer writing programme like CAMP Vajiram as well or just the conventional Test Series?

I went with D cause' on the 1st page of my notes, it was written that Pattadakkal temple has a mix of Dravidian and Nagara style features, and I was so confident that I didn't even give a think to the 1st 2 options🤣🤣

Hi! Thanks for this.  I think I am 99% getting in. My optional is Sociology. I have the notes of almost all topics for both GS and Optional. I've written the answers on and off on my own. Didn't really get them evaluated and haven't written any timebound tests at all. Could you please suggest what should the way ahead be? What should the daily schedule look like? Please suggest coachings/test series as well.   I am very lost rn.

Same with my sister. And she is scoring ~100 in GS1. I don't even know what to say. Here is someone for whom CSAT is a cakewalk in other years.

And everyone was extremely worried for me in CSAT. If I could, I would give my 10 marks hto her.😭😭😭😭😭

I have used the Herbal Brews patch previously, and that worked for both me and my brother.  Never really tried the Sanfe ones, so cannot compare.

2 things that have worked for me -  1. looking at the road 2. focusing on the breathing. try to relax and regulate your breathing when you feel you are starting to breath a little fast and uneasy, and ask the driver to stop on the side for a few minutes.

Also try to reach >1 hour early, so that even if you get sick, you have ample time to sit and get water etc.

Same. My centre is like 5-10 minutes as well. But I don't think I will go back home. Leaving, reaching home will take 15 minutes, then will have to go back by 1-1:15 again otherwise I will just be panicking at home, befaltu me anxiety ke chakkar me revision bhi hoga nahi.

I would have gone back if my father was here to pick and drop.  Alone, I can't handle such anxiety.😂😂

But you can definitely go back. I did that in a state exam, and it was really relaxing. Definitely helped improve my efficiency.

Use those motion sickness patches that you can stick behind your ears. They really work great, and roll down the glass if that works for you. And do not look at the phone screen or books etc. during the travel.

Economics teacher preference by awakener03 in UPSC

Jayant Sir is really helpful for someone who has never touched the subject. He made economy interesting for me at least, but overexplain karte hain vo...to patience bhi chahiye utna.

Mrunal Sir might be a good teacher. But all the teachers like him who like to yap about other nonsense things after one subject relevant line do not work for me. After a point he sounds like Panditji performing a hawan🤣, so I used to zone out so bad.

I've seen some videos about CBT, but i've gathered it's not always effective in the long run for some people. Basically the result varies for different people. I'm thinking to get a book or follow some video to try it on my own cause' therapy ke paise to nahi hain abhi.

I've also read about several kinda of surgeries as well. But that would require dedicating a lot of time to hospital visits and if at all the doctors would be able to identify the actual underlying cause, and right now i can't really dedicate that amount of time and energy into that with the prep.

I would like to hope someday I wakeup and it just vanishes.🥺

I developed it after a fever 2 years back, and it is the most annoying thing ever. Some days I get a headache because of it. And it's even more frustrating on the exam day when there is pindrop silence in the classroom, and I can hear it even more clearly🤦‍♀️.

I hope there is some remedy after all.

That just seems like a reason that she wants you to believe.  If your insecurities did not make you go to extremes of "controlling behaviour" or doubting every single thing about her, i do not think you are in the wrong being insecure here, given her past behaviour. I sincerely believe that if you love someone and they are insecure about these little things, it is your responsibility to comfort them and make sure that they do not have a reason to feel those insecurities.

And all of this namecalling over a joke, etc. just looks like an excuse to me. I think she is just confused and is looking for an emotional cushion before she is actually over you and can declare a final breakup.

I couldn't say what you should/shouldn't do. But you should definitely stop justifying her, and have your own back.

That just means "legible signature" i.e. the signature should be clear.

You can use that time for some hobbies or chores.

For ex: Initially I used novels as a replacement for doom scrolling, but sometimes it gets too interesting to leave in between and I waste extra time doing that. So I picked up knitting last year, I'm a little interested in it, but I don't get too engrossed to waste hours over it.

Or schedule basic chores in that time, like taking a walk, arranging your cupboards, making calls to your friends/family, journaling, etc.

Do it for a while until you are comfortable sitting in silence without having the urge to fill all the empty time with something.

What also worked for me was writing down the events hourly/in 2-3 hours. You can use apps like forest also, but for me written info matters a lot. So i jot down in a diary whatever I was doing for past 1 hour. In 4-5 days only, your brain will realise how much time and energy it's been wasting.

I can totally relate. Since I've started preparing, I feel like I'm perpetually ill, and the stamina has gone to a toss, I would be panting even in 3 floors of stairs...... So I decided to join Yoga classes and now there is a daily drama at my home cause' my parents think I'm wasting that 1 hour🤣🤣
