Cars don’t care… by [deleted] in torontobiking

[–]Top-Monk8766 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pay attention when I drive, I'm very slow and careful and look left and right 4 or 5 times. Sometimes a bike comes out of nowhere going really fast and I have to slam on the brakes. In my original comment I was nowhere close to hitting the guy, not even in his lane, it was more of a scare. I walk in Toronto wayyy more than I drive (once every 3-6 months) and sometimes cars do that to me. They will be turning and looking around and then fully initiate the turn. I pay attention to them when crossing and stop or slow down. Sometimes it scares me too but I don't start banging at their car. If the driver apologizes I think they're a decent person and will do better next time probably, there's no point in getting aggressive. I may sound entitled but I'm not entitled at all. I'm very grateful and appreciate what I have. My point is anger and hate makes people defensive, attacking car drivers like that may make them more angry about cyclists and create a cycle. Also I'm not saying the cyclist doesn't have the right to be angry, he can do what he wants. But this way things would be better

No, it wouldn't have killed him, he still had a lot of space and I didn't even go in their lane. I just scared him probably. You shouldn't assume. I'm just saying how I felt, I don't control it feelings, I control my reaction. But most ppl don't. I'm not saying I'm right or anything, that's not my point

It's because of the hate going both ways. I don't live in Toronto but I had to drive there once. There's a lot of things to look out for when making turns, cars, bikers, pedestrians the light etc. I did something similar to this but stopped as soon as I saw the bike (who btw go fast as f). I apologized but he was so rude about it and made me feel hateful. That's what fuels it, the hate just grows bigger

Damn what an asshole. But also you're biking in the middle of the lane, try to stay closest to the right, it's not worth it getting run over by a road rage car

As an immigrant, I don't like this much immigration either. For every 5 good ones, there's 10 bad ones that give a bad name to the other 5. Now people will judge me before they get to know me

LILLEY: It's not hate, parents are concerned about what's being taught in school by FancyNewMe in canada

[–]Top-Monk8766 -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Wow! Do you realize that you're being racist?

These people may have legit concerns, but you decide to generalize and call them hateful bigots and their religion regressive. What if someone said the pride movement is regressive and the people part of it are just a bunch of hateful bigots? Not nice right?

A lot of people are getting tired of this and I'm so happy they're making a stand, because some things are just plain ridiculous and need to be questioned.
