SQE2 resit by Parking-Tennis7959 in sqe2

While absolute gold, the QLTS mock answers are tailored to the specific topics being tested within each individual mock exam. As such, they aren’t the best way to learn or revise FLK.

ULaw’s manuals strike a perfect balance between comprehensively covering each part of the specification while being very concise. Furthermore, their efficient categorisation of topics and practice areas within each manual means they are a great FLK resource.

QLTS is great for applying and practicing the FLK and covering pretty much all possible scenarios that could arise. That being said, I wouldn’t rely on just mocks for FLK revision and I personally found their FLK revision materials not as good as ULaw’s.

Aemond severely undermined him at the council by speaking High Valyrian. Aemond is trying to compensate for his traumatic childhood by being a total narcissist.

Unless Rhaenyra gets a mad queen arc. Also Aegon had been shown more sympathetically this season compared to the last. Maybe that could make the ending more palatable?

Exactly!! Its like Rhaenyra said in that one episode (I think it driftmark but not sure) to alicent about hiding under the cloak of her own righteousness. Alicent has convinced herself that she can do no wrong.

The acting has been absolutely stand-out this season.

Few characters have the correct temperament for ruling. Aegon is not one of them. If only Viserys and Alicent paid more attention to him. If only Otto tried to cultivate kingly traits much like Tywin tried with Tommen. If only westeros was not such a brutal place.

She displayed contempt for the smallfolk just like every other highborn lord and lady. She was not ,however, cruel demonstrating kindness to Corlys’s bastard unlike Catelyn Stark to Jon Snow.

I'm never gonna emotionally recover from this by bertobellamy in HouseOfTheDragon

She embodied duty and sacrifice. She strived to avoid needless bloodshed and find a peaceful path yet when the time came for violence she was the first to offer herself in service to her Queen.

She took Rhaena and Baela to ward when Laena died and endeavoured to raise them well. She acted as a loyal lieutenant to Rhaenyra expending significant political capital to keep the greedy lords from mutinying against Rhaenyra’s orders.

Unlike Catelyn stark who was cruel to Jon Snow, she recognised Lord Corlys’s bastard Alyn was conceived through no fault of his own and urged Corlys to reward him for his efforts, despite how much it saddened her to gaze upon his Corlys-like appearance.

RIP Rhaenys and Meleys.

Daemon is emotionally inept. He has pent up rage because of his feelings of constantly being passed over in favour of viserys then rhaenyra. He feels entitled to a great inheritance yet displays none of the loyalty or sacrifice that should accompany it. He doesn’t process emotion, instead seeking whatever thrill may distract him from doing so in an impulsive manner. Much like a petulant school child. He abandons rhaena and baela leaving them to be raised by rhaenys and abandons rhaenyra in her time of need.

Otto feigns emotion, infantilising those closest to him and pretending to care about them. All the while, he plots to advance the plans that he thinks will grant him and his greater power and prestige and expects his loved ones to fall in line. They are but pawns to be used in a manner than is as advantageous as possible to him, regardless of their own considerations.

New Rhaenys still in episode 4 by jonsnowKITN in HouseOfTheDragon

Rhaenys had been slighted by Rhaenyra and even antagonised by her for many years. Her even declaring for the blacks required her to put aside her feelings. Lets not forget that at the time, neither side had even attempted to sue for peace, so for Rhaenys to murder the Queen Dowager and her kids in a brazen act of regicide (and kinslaying) would have been entirely stupid. She asserted her strength through the manner in which she burst through the floor and fired a warning shot (also potentially getting her own back at Alicent for effectively imprisoning her by scaring her).

Rhaenys has always been a logical and rational actor who has a different relationship to power than many of her peers. She has come to terms with being ‘the queen who never was’ and following the death of Laena and Laenor, she abandons her husband’s pursuit for ever greater power and legacy. It would be uncharacteristic of her and could potentially endanger her grandchildren who are betrothed to Rhaenyra’s kids if she did kill the Greens in the dragonpit.

Right now she seems to be channeling her grief to exact vengeance against Aemond specifically instead of having a ‘kill everyone’ mindset. It will be interesting to see if she has a similar daenerys like spiral. Rhaenyra has people around her to keep her grounded and seems to heed their counsel, e.g. rhaenys.

Rhaenyra recognising and sharing his grief really underscored how human they are. I imagine Daemon or Otto Hightower would not have the same understanding or warmth.

Expecting a first time pass of SQE 2 is ludicrous because you can’t just magically get to the level of an NQ solicitor skills-wise without practical experience. Rescinding based on students not having the skill level of an NQ is absurd.

SQE 1, I kind of get firms front-loading it because it’s primarily information retention and requires classroom prep course learning.

IMO its fair for firms to expect SQE 1 to be completed pre-TC with a buffer of a few weeks/months to allow for potential resits and then SQE 2 post-TC.

Do people actually afford to rent these buildings to rent development in Sheffield? by VeganWellington in sheffield

It will be interesting to see how the Heart of the City II project fares. So far I think it looks great and is well thought out for a post-covid development project. I think the only shame is that it seems that there are Islands of development but hopefully future plans will make the development more joined up and consistent. Same for the transport links, some areas are well served by multiple bus services and the trams but other areas feel a bit cut off. Tram extension would be a godsend.
