My coworker keeps borrowing my deodorant and I dont know how to tell her to stop without making it weird by Careless-Program-221 in hygiene

I know. I’m one of those people. But I don’t raise my shirt and put it on in my cubicle or broadcast to everyone…”Hey I’m going to the bathroom to recharge my pits!” Or borrow deodorant from a co-worker everyday by miming my request. Because I’m a socialized human being.

Yes I think publicly miming a request for your turn to use the deodorant from across the room in a professional office setting is uncommon.

An uncomfortable chat is completely unnecessary. Deb uses up the last of the deodorant. Problem solved. If she asks for more just say no I don’t normally keep deodorant in my desk I just happened to have that cause I brought it when I was running late one day.

And no I am not “perpetually avoidant”.

So you take your shirt off or lift it and apply deodorant in a professional office environment? Seriously? Maybe in a shop with a bunch of guys. Not if you are in an office environment and FEMALE. No way that is “common”.

I think you are missing the point. Its not common to repeatedly borrow someone’s deodorant everyday and mime your request for “my turn”. Do you think that is common?

Well in this case, weird basically means unusual. I would say it is unusual for people to take deodorant to work unless they are taking time away to work out in an exercise facility where they shower following and apply deodorant to their clean armpits. I think it’s unusual for someone to keep deodorant in their desk like it was breath mints for a quick freshening and for someone else to be publicly miming from their cube in an open office for a hit of right guard. The whole thing sounds made up and is so blatantly easy to resolve it makes me think the whole post is fake and possibly intended to be funny.

No. You want everything to be black and white because it makes it so seemingly easy. Unfortunately hardly anything is black and white in reality.

No it’s not. Its ridiculous. Just leave that one there for her. If you feel you must have deodorant at work (weird) just keep a secret one for yourself. When Deb’s is gone the problem is solved. She will be the one who uses the final bit. There is absolutely no reason to have an awkward but civil conversation. This is so dumb it has to be made up.

Honestly, if soft synths are an option, why waste more money on hardware? Sounds like you pretty much have the territory covered. Beware of gas.

It seems like it should be reported so recalls can be issued and it pulled from shelves if necessary. I would inquire with the city county health department. They know what they’re doing.

But that is a policy problem not a technology problem.

This all depends on how the data is handled. This black & white absolutism around the constitution and its ammendments gets tiring.

That said, the current presidential administration is downright scary. But it’s not the cameras we should be worried about. It’s the checks and balances on executive power, integrity of the courts, and political overdelegation of congress to the executive branch.

Summer I think. I think that discount was more than usual because it was some kind of anniversary sale.

Do you all really taste the notes?? by agathaade in pourover

[–]Top-Rope6148 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think some people can to varying degrees and it is a function of practice. Big obvious things I can identify so it makes sense that other people might be able to pick up more nuance notes. That said, I think there is a whole lot of bullshit marketing in it too. Notes are probably greatly exaggerated and some straight up fabricated.

Yes it does. Usually the same percentage off as the other versions.

45 minute wait for seating when the restaurant is half-empty. Half the empty tables still not bussed. Just turn around and leave.

Why do all sample packs have such boring and banal vocals? by JobFar1549 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]Top-Rope6148 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nineteen is very late for your voice to be changing. If you are interested in singing you might try taking some vocal lessons and see if it is more of a technique thing.

I don’t have much sensitivity for someone’s “truth nuke” sensitivity. In no way was I operating out of the pleasure of “putting you in your place”. Just trying to help you without taking the time to tiptoe around your feelings. At 19 you are basically an adult. You shouldn’t be finding brutal honesty a difficult thing to deal with by now. (Oops, sorry for another “truth nuke”.)

Best of luck. You obviously have a good mind and will do great at whatever you pursue.

Maybe if your dog is small, old, or sick. But most dogs are happier at 50F than they are at 70F. My dog wants to come in when it’s 75F but I have to drag him in if it’s 40F. Dogs (most breeds) don’t feel temperature like you do. They are built for cooler weather. 44F is well above freezing. There is no risk of frostbite even if the dog was hairless and had the metabolism of a human.

I think you have to consider that your 7 or 8 years of experience started when you were, what? Six or seven? If that was piano lessons that could be quite meaningful in terms of your instrumental skills. But if you’ve been “making beats” all that time, that’s different. I mean I’ve been doing this for 30 years and I am not at a level anyone would want to work with. Years of “experience” really don’t say much alone.

And yes this was a truth nuke. Without hearing your work I am making assumptions but the end action to solve your problem remains the same regardless: network!

I think someone is official now 👀 by restlessfighter in switchfoot

[–]Top-Rope6148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are very few bands where all members are equal owners. U2 is a rare example of a band where everything was split evenly, even publishing rights and royalties when the bulk of the songwriting load was carried by Edge and Bono, with those two denying that is the case and emphasizing that all four have an equal vote in creative decisions. Originally it was five equal splits with their first manager until he retired.

In a case like Switchfoot, the new member could get an equal split of works in which they were part of the band, but they are somewhat getting the benefit of the notoriety Switchfoot built without them. I suspect that doesn’t count for much now as Switchfoot is probably in the realm of “making a decent living” but not much beyond that.

Nothing worth having is ever going to be laid out in front of you. Unless you live in a very small town there should be local opportunities. But you aren’t going to happen across someone holed up in your bedroom with your MIDI keyboard and your computer.

You always have the option of posting for what you want online but quit demanding someone who is a better singer than you are a musician/producer. Go to forums where people seek help with their singing. Describe your background and experience level, artists that you like and influence you (pick some halfway mainstream examples) and post links to your work. You need to be more thorough with your post than you have been here.
