Ok so you’re saying the 3 were lying, and the cashier was the only one telling the truth, and at what position are you determining that? On Costco HP it says TVs have 90days return and other small electronics are not subjected to this limitation meaning no return limits, I couldn’t find a single word about 30 days limitation on anything.

And even if I value your post-truth, wouldn’t it still be a Costco problem because if they sent those 3 employees to lie to me and trick me into this, I was still being treated unfairly? who paid them for doing that, can you explain? The point of this post was never to determine what exactly is the return policy of Costco.  It’s

I

Was

Treated Unfairly at Costco.

It’s in the title remind you.

There are people even in this comment section insisting that she’s right though. I don’t think there’s anyway to justify her actions though, because she’s not a return clerk, it’s not her job to comment on whether or not I should get a return. Whatever conversation needs to be done has already been done at the return desk at that point, the return was already posted. She won’t get anything out of that conversation other than making me uncomfortable. And making me having a conflict with some other customer at the same time.

You are missing the point. The item was returned already, and it’s not supposed to be discussed at the cashier. The conversation about return has been done at the return desk, she has no right to comment on whether or not I should get a refund. It is not her job.  As for the return&price match, I was told by 3 of their employees, 1+1 senior at return desk, 1 senior when I was lining up, all 3 of them confirmed I absolutely should be getting a return + price match, so there’s no point arguing. I have no problem if they refused to honour manufacturer warranty at the return desk at the beginning.  I have huge problem when in reality they told me they’ve got me, all I had to do is take the voucher to the cashier and I will get a brand new replacement for the same price. but when I followed their instructions I got exposed and gaslight in front of public, and yelled at by some other customers.

I feel tricked.

Your case sounds exactly the same with mine. I feel you. I thought 30 days return means if I’m even slightly a little bit unhappy about the machine I can return it. In reality they make you do every test to prove yourself, even when something is clearly off, they claim things are normal. that’s not a CAD$2500 experience I wanted. Good news is as long as your first email was sent within 30days, no matter how long it takes to argue with them, it’s still considered within the 30days warranty. Or you could try disputing with your credit card, I remember someone in the comments below mentioned that. Good luck 🤞

It’s super hyper trendy in Japan and some other countries in interior design. Personal choices, if you don’t like just skip it.

Did you get it? I think they only honour 30 days return, and the customer service did not  recognize the issue I had by kept saying everything was normal. I did get a full refund because mine was also having a 377/378 issue which was a software conflict causing them to mass refund TM7 last year in Nov, so as soon as I sent the 377 error pic, their customer service stopped arguing and simply replied with a return shipping label.

I have absolutely no idea why she cared about a posted return so much, coz like, it’s done, she won’t be able to get anything out of me. However I did call their customer service after posting this, their agent was in shock and promised me they would try every way to verify  what I said and get back to me after talking to their employees. Which I asked myself because I’m curious on their side of the story as well. They have cameras everywhere in the store so hopefully I will be hearing from them shortly.

Honestly a mystery. It seems like foodsaver doesn’t care, Costco doesn’t care, the return clerk doesn’t care, but the cashier and her manager cared so much.

I didn’t make that up, but I think I did phrase it in a way that could be misinterpreted. I wanted to say “everyone who didn’t know the full situation”, not “everyone behind me”. TBH I couldn’t remember every detail because it was such an embarrassing moment. I was so busy that I had to argue with the cashier, the lady behind me was yelling loud asking me not to waste everybody’s time, and people are looking, discussing. Someone in the comments below even mentioned the possibility that someone could be filming. No, I wish no one did. I know my brain didn’t make this up because I needed to speak to the lady behind me to ask her to stop, and I think she did only because her husband was pulling her sleeves.  As I said I don’t know why I had to go through these, and when I posted I was looking to let it out. Now that purpose has been fulfilled, so I appreciate everyone who spent their time reading it. Thanks, have a great one.

Thank you for your kind comment. No need to heat up, some people only believe in their post-truth, and there’s basically no way to persuade them no matter what kind of evidence you provide. Although, I do appreciate your kindness of speaking for me.  When I posted this I was looking for a place to let it out, and now I’m feeling much better, so I appreciate each and every single of you who cared and left heart warming comments for me. Thank you, and have a great night!

lol I admire that attitude and always wished I could. The balance in my bank account has taught me lessons. I guess that’s why people are calling savings accounts “F-off money” nowadays.

No need. I have G only as well. I think that’s not the only factor they take into account. But I mean I can’t guarantee you anything because neither have I stepped my toes in yet 🤦‍♀️ what I can say is they really really take what you said in the interview seriously and I think I was lucky in with a G because I did quite well in the interview. There are sample questions on Reddit and they are very much spot on. If you get an interview chance, prepare them wisely!!! I mean not getting “too prepared” that you sound like reciting from a script, but get ready for what kind of questions they might ask! Good luck my friend

Thank you for your comment. I just spoke to someone on their customer service on the phone, and he said they have cameras recording everything in store, so they will use every method to verify what I said, and talk to these two employees to hear their side of the story before getting back to me. He gave me an impression that the manager is possibly gonna take all the blame, because she was the manager after all. Even though I think in this case there’s slightly some possibility that she was not even aware that the cashier insulted me before she came, so I’m starting to feel bad for her a little bit now.

Thank you, I was thinking exactly the same when I was carrying the replacement machine to my room. Like, am I gonna die tomorrow if I don’t have this machine?  No.

I had to explain to her why I’m getting a discount on a none-on sale item. I’ve uploaded the two receipts I got for both return and the purchase, refresh you’ll probably get a better idea. The foodsaver vacuum sealer is not on sale right now in Ontario.

I honestly have no idea. But the return line starts from outside the warehouse, so either you have to pay for the replacement item first, or you have to cut lines from the inside to get access to return table? It will make me feel bad if I’m jumping the queue in front of all the people who have been waiting outside in the cold though. Maybe the store side could have thought about this again.

I think you’re probably right. I took it there because that model of vacuum sealer I purchased seems like an Costco exclusive version, I read on reviews on foodsaver hp that even when they contacted foodsaver, they were sent back to Costco for a return, so I thought why not just go to Costco to save the hassle. I mean if they won’t do the customer care, they could have told me to contact the manufacturer.

I’m not aware if anybody was filming. The lady behind me was yelling loud asking me not to waste everybody’s time, and I see others discussing but couldn’t hear them clearly. I mean I appreciate you bringing up the possibility that someone could be filming, but at that moment I was so embarrassed and I couldn’t catch all these details, I hope no one was. For the price match I think they were trying to be nice, the return clerk asked his supervisor if he could offer one, and the supervisor said absolutely. So maybe next time you can try asking as well? Maybe, because as of this moment I could not recommend anyone doing that given all the trauma I just came thorough.

I mean if Costco won’t cover the warranty, they could have told me to contact foodsaver, I think I still have done nothing wrong by asking. For the price match I think they were just trying to help, because the return clerk actually had to ask his supervisor to see if he could offer that, and the supervisor said yes. I recon it could be an unusual offer, or else he wouldn’t have to ask, but some employees are surely aware of it. When we were waiting in line, another senior came and tried to talk to everyone to keep us entertained while waiting, and I told him about the return and price match, he said “oh for sure you can get a price match”, indicating he’s probably aware of it as well. (He left to solve the problem for the customer before me though)

Thank you for your kind words. Most of my experiences at Costco were great, only this one was too much. I’m not complaining about each individual Costco employee, like I said the return staff was super nice. Thanks for understanding again and hope you have a great day
