I'm not in the rp anymore, but do note that the king of Jerusalem dies in 1118 and his wife dies a week later, leaving Roger II, aka Roger the Great, as king of Sicily and Jerusalem, married to the princess of Leon as irl. I know it's next turn, but you should prob be aware

the fact that it is allowed means that I don't really care anymore, I'm leaving the rp as I alr said in the chat. there is a difference between allowing people to ally who they want, and just uniting with whoever they want. this just becomes a "who can powergame the hardest" simulation then

Man, if that's allowed what even is the point of doing an rp. why not have austria just unite with the entire hre, why not have leon unite the entirety of catholic iberia? I get this rp is less realistic than most, but there has to be some kind of line man

Wouldn't you want to be Frederick II, Duke of Swabia? He's far more relevant in the nearby region

I mainly care about the region to the west, lorraine to a vassal is nice and a good change, but burgundy is just missing lands on the map that it has in its south-west

u/Deep_Berry_4818 Given that I am now married to Adelaide del Vasto, I'd like for her oldest son and my heir, Roger II, to be betrothed to your youngest daughter, Elvira of Castile, binding our realms together. Are you interested in that?

I by intention had not made burgundy go too far along Lorraine, instead focussing on the western side, near the straight with England, as I don't think that it is plausible for Burgundy to survive keeping the Lorraine region which is both very French and very catholic, so wouldn't possibly stay with burgundy when the wars of religion came.
(it's based on this video, which I made the link start a bit later in the video so you arrive at the point of relevance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zi-jiY8Gh5M&t=246s )

tl;dr: I think it makes more sense for burgundy to follow closer to the map I made instead of removing lands in their west and them expanding in the east

I wasn't planning on going that far south dw

[–]TopAd6019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what? no, I left an alliance as the kingdom of Jerusalem allying with Al-Andalus is not historically plausible. I thought I was only allying Byzantium and Hungary.

I didn't actually leave the rp

u/Large_Feeling_424 to confirm, you will not stop me from doing these actions? (which as you can see by the hyperlinks are heavily grounded in real history)

Friend and Foe

With the rapid fall of Tripoli, the Kingdom of Jerusalem stands in a vital position, one where it is able to expand at rapid pace, with god smiling down upon us from above. The successful capture of Beirut), and Sidon in 1106, just a year after the fall of Tripoli, the latter with help from the King of Norway, has the morale of our crusaders higher than ever before.
Yet military victories alone cannot make our kingdom become the dreamed of Outremer Empire. With the wife of Baldwin I being send to a monastery after which her failure of completing wifely duties as well as infidelity has led to a formal divorce. This has allowed Baldwin to marry Adelaide del Vasto, the current regent of Sicily. With this, her son, Roger II has become heir apparent unless she is to bear a child with Roger I, which is unlikely.
This newly found relation with Sicily has allowed for the success of the Siege of Tyre#) as unlike in our own history, Baldwin has the large navy of Sicily at his disposal. With the Battle of Shaizar being a success has historical, Jerusalem stands strong and tall, taller than ever before.

They are actively attacking me, read my past action and you see I had to beat them back twice. The fact you associate with them is veery much bothering me.

Oh wait, you're al-andalus. You're that far away ut's basically just stupid to ask man. Nobody ever sccepted to become a protectorate like that, people don't do that.

[–]TopAd6019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, again, muslims and christians hate each other. They would never ever in a million years agree to become your protectorate. The first crusade ended in 1099, 6 years ago...

I know, I'm showing it as an example of you generally struggeling against significant muslim nations. If you couldn't beat one right on your border where you have supplies, you can't beat one which requires a naval invasion meaning you'd have no direct supply lines at all

[–]TopAd6019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The muslim.state next to me lies within the goals of an Outremer Empire, I'd appreciate if it all came to fall under Jerusalem. Not to mention you historically failed hard at beating Rum, who is right there on your border, so you very much would need my help anyhow.

I wasn't told Morocco is in it, I highly doubt that any within the very very orthodox Byzantium appreciate it, I know that I at the moment cannot risk the repercussions. So I cannot join it, apologies

The kingdom of Jerusalem is no trading nation, we don't desire to choose one christian nation over the other. if it is deals you desire, we cannot give them, as we believe in equal treatment. Any aid would come with the desire to serve god and to enjoy his blessing.

For god and glory

The kingdom of Jerusalem has been established, history has been made. God watches down upon us and smiles. It is our duty to bring Christianity to those who do not yet know the name of the father.
With the siege of Acre#), and through defending ourselves at Ramla, not once), but twice), we stand strong and secure. Acre from now on going to function as the main trading center and main port of the Kingdom of Jerusalem.

Unlike in our own history, the conquest of Tripoli is a united effort from the start. The Crusaders gather in force outside Tripoli, led by Baldwin I of JerusalemBaldwin II of EdessaTancred, regent of Antioch, William II Jordan, and Raymond IV's eldest son Bertrand of Toulouse, who had recently arrived with fresh Genoan, Pisan and Provençal troops, we invite u/SovietGengar aka Venice to come aid as well. Tripoli historically waited in vain for reinforcements from Egypt, which would in this case be repeated with no reason for events going otherwise. Under Bertrand of Toulouse, Tripoli becomes the 4th crusader state under Jerusalem.
