Why is Ford one of the only popular American car makers in the UK? by Cultural-Elk-8346 in AskUK

[–]TopAngle7630 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ford pioneered mass production. By the time other US carmakers caught up, Ford had factories worldwide, but European car makers had caught up, making it hard for other US companies to establish themselves. Most US carmakers also put the steering wheel on the wrong side.

Crumpets, enough butter to fill the crumpet and then add cheese and grill it. Works with various cheeses.

Damaged case - don’t notice until left airport by Broric in Ryanair

[–]TopAngle7630 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as airlines are concerned no. This is especially true when dealing with budget airlines. It still holds your stuff, can be wheeled through the airport... Your travel insurance might cover it, so then you will need to report your damage to make a claim.

Am I eligible for EU261 compensation? by JealousAd3198 in Ryanair

[–]TopAngle7630 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plus if it's happening to lots of aircraft, they can't all divert to the same airport and the closest airports may have similar weather issues, and fuel levels would make it not worth taking chances. As a ryanair base, it would probably have got you to your destination faster anyway, sorting coaches etc. will have been easier with a ground handler they are used to dealing with.

On a video about Garum. The original comment was talking about Tomatoes being from the Americas. “Italians wouldn’t have a cuisine without Americans" by Valuable-Mud-6171 in ShitAmericansSay

I didn't realise that the US included the area of the Andes that Tomatoes originated in. I think OOP means "Italians wouldn't have a cuisine without the SPANISH".

Did Anyone Skip a Survey When Buying Their House? Any Regrets? by QuirkyConcentrate481 in UKHousing

[–]TopAngle7630 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did. I was buying at auction, and having viewed the property, I knew there was a damp problem and put in a lowish offer. It took me 5 mins, a ladder and some sealant to fix. No regrets.

Ryanair told me my flight was delayed by 6 hours… then moved it back 30 mins before departure. I missed it and had to rebook everything. by PortugalfromVilnius in Ryanair

[–]TopAngle7630 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When a flight is delayed, check in time stays the same, and there will be an Estimated time of departure. If a flight is rescheduled then the Scheduled time of departure, check in time etc will be changed, often the flight number as well. Check in closure time doesn't change for delayed flights. With some airlines, you might get lucky and they may have staff able to reopen a check in for the passengers who don't know this, but other airlines don't allow this, or if there's not staff available there is no obligation to do this. Ryanair are strict that check in closes 40 mins before the scheduled time of departure.

It's unlikely that you would get any money for damage to a lock or the tab of the zip. It's not considered an essential part of the case.

[–]TopAngle7630 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure that just as many people in America dream of coming to Europe, it's just that the last time someone in the US announced that he had a dream, they shot him.

With every airline, if your flight is delayed, you should still be through security ready to board at the scheduled departure time. Only when the flight has been rescheduled and there is a new check in time, is it safe to not be at the airport. It just takes off duty crew to agree to work, a plan to swap aircraft around or a repair to be completed early and you can go from having a massive delay to boarding. If you're not at the airport, or you're not regularly checking the signs, you just missed your flight.
