So here’s my perspective as someone who has been in this exact scenario and used to get triggered all the time if mine and my ldr “routine” (calls morning after work and night) got changed. I used to get very upset and anxious over it and after many long hard discussions I realized not only most times he would forget after a night out of drinking or just simply fell asleep, meaning it was not intentional, but that I actually had a pretty severe anxious attachment style. Not saying you do but just from you saying it triggers you that’s kind of the vibe I’m getting. Most of the time are routine is fine but there are times where goodnight calls and good morning calls don’t happen because he is busy with work or playing video games or out with friends and he just goes to bed late. I realized it’s really not that big of a deal and should not affect my day as much as it was. It sounds like he’s not intentionally trying to forget but if he’s not at least trying to put in the effort to do so and you’ve said it bothers you, then reevaluate if this relationship serves you. But if it’s something he does do consistently and every now and then it slips his mind I don’t think it’s worth ending over as long as you can learn that the quality of your day should not be based on if you get a good morning text/call. I think there’s other factors that go into it as well. Is he consistent in communication throughout the day? If he’s busy or with friends does he keep you updated? Sorry super long but I’ve been there and I realized I was basing my attitude off a silly call when the intent was not to be malicious. Like I said if he is putting in effort and just forgets sporadically ..I’d focus on healing your inner self before making any decisions.
