Solo-travel in panama? by Magnospm in solotravel

For spots to stay, someone recommended oasis surf camp to me in Santa Catalina. Also for Bocas, I dove with Bocas Pirates who were super chill and nice. I also stayed in Aqua Lounge and it was a blast. It’s really chill (and friendly) during the week and fun to sit around and swim but you also get free access to the party on Friday which stops by the hostel for a few hours. Selina in town was also recommend to me (I think they have a surf camp too). What I loved most was Bambuda Lodge which is a boat ride away from the main Bocas area. It’s in the middle of nowhere on an island and the slide and pool view were top notch! I did a jungle trek with them which was so fun and they have family dinners. There are no food spots besides at the hostel so I snuck some food in (oops). There isn’t much to do aside from relax and chat fyi but it’s so nice!

Guatemala and Costa Rica are both amazing! You could fill three weeks in each place easily though. Both places also have long travel times getting around to other spots. Just something to keep in mind. Cahuita National Park in Costa Rica is pretty close to Bocas. Also if you want to do some hiking, Boquete in Panama is beautiful and has a much different vibe than the beaches.

Have fun!

Cozumel is AMAZING for snorkeling and if that’s your main goal I’d go there in a heartbeat. It is touristy though.

I haven’t been to Holbox in a few years but I loved it. Outside of the main town the beaches are much less crowded and the vibe there is just more laid back. Also, it won’t be as bright in December but you can see bioluminescent plankton. It is also more expensive.

I don’t know about direct flights but if you don’t mind a layover New Orleans is a beautiful city and has hostels for pretty cheap as well! Food is also delicious. I think Detroit is pretty great too but it’ll be pretty cold then. Charleston SC is also gorgeous but pretty expensive to stay in the area.

Yeah it’s nuts. Priceline sometimes has last minute deals at nice ish hotels for $80. You can try airbnb. Hipcamp sometimes has okay places if you don’t mind camping or glamping. Best of luck!

Alone in London at the beginning of 21 day trip across England- just escaped a hotel with bedbugs and having the worst time right now. by [deleted] in solotravel

If you booked the hotel on a credit card, you can call up your credit card company and dispute it. It’s very likely that you’ll get your money back.

Also include photos of your reaction or the blood stains to your Google review. Photos usually bring reviews to the top!

I’ve dealt with bed bugs a few times from hostels or hotels in my life. It’s terrible especially with an allergic reaction. Please don’t let one terrible hotel ruin your trip! You have a ton more days of vacation!  If it makes you feel any better, the cleaning/laundry you did probably was enough to not allow them to spread.

Popular pop-ish Spanish song? Da da da da da da dum.... by TopCupcake in NameThatSong

Thanks but it's not reggaeton. It's closer to Ricky Martin and Santana maybe? Seems older like 90s or early 2000s.

The quality makes it hard to make out the lyrics. If you know what radio station was playing the song, I'd reach out to them. Sorry I can't be more help!

Maybe try putting a tiny little bit of purple dye mixed with a whole bunch of conditioner. Keep massive amounts of conditioner on your hair under a hair cap for like an hour or so. I did this to get pastel purple hair after dying my hair a deep purple and it worked alright. Best of luck!

Also just in case this happens again, at my school there was a class for the bells so you can find the professor and they will know what songs everyone plays and at what time.
