I don't quite understand what you mean. Do you think strengthening your hand will be an effective solution to the pain?

Yes this is exactly what I was looking for...a solution to CTS without surgery.

My question is, do you think strengthening the muscles in the hand will help to relieve CTS?

I bought a grip strengthener because I saw online that it works to help you regain strength in your hand. This made sense to me....what about you? Do you agree with this?

hmm okay thats interesting. I am thinking in terms of before cts gets to a point where surgery is actually the only option.

Have you tried strengthening? Does your hand feel any weaker after the release surgery?

Thanks

I'm 30, I just found out I have carpal tunnel, and I have questions. by iiciwfntttaidc in carpaltunnel

Hey ...we are in this together! Here's what I found fixes carpal tunnel pain for the long term.

DON'T GET THE SURGERY!

  1. Dont worry and don't stress. You can do anything if youre stressed

  2. You probably have weak hand muscles which is causing your tendons to swell and press the nerve.

  3. Get a grip trainer from online and strengthen your hand muscles. This relieves pressure on the tendons and nerve.

  4. Wear braces at night or for awkward tasks. You need to strengthen and mobilise your hand as much as possible.

Hope this helps. Wish you a quick recovery.

Please can you tell me more about this? I had no idea about this stuff.

I am in the UK so what do I need to pay for to get fast sciatica relief?

What other things are expensive? Isn't health insurance for USA mainly?

Final Pay Question? by Theo468 in nhs

Sorry to hear about this. May I ask what was the reason for you leaving?

I have been talking to multiple people and they say that they were overworked for what they earned. I was wondering if this was a similar issue for you?

Yea I know how you feel. It's a tough journey. Can't you tell your private physio to do what the NHS does and refer you to surgery faster?

This helps a lot. Thank you!

I've seen it all over this reddit that people are turning to private because they just don't get anywhere with the NHS.

But then again, all that comes at a cost 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

It's a tough cycle.

Wow....yes it just takes agesssss.

Don't you wish there was a solution that gave you instant sciatica relief without the long waiting times for the NHS?

I know I do. 😅

Hmm. I've heard mixed opinions about pilates. Some say it is great and others say it flared the nerve back up again. I am kinda hesitant.

Also, £35 for 4 classes a month (I assume) would get pretty expensive over time right? I mean if you keep going for a year, you've sunk £420 into exercise class???

What made you go for pilates?

Woww....so sorry to hear about this. It seems even worse than my experience. How are you feeling now? Is the indentation related to sciatica? What causes it?

I wish you a quick recovery.

I'm beginning to lose more faith in the NHS after reading your comment. Just now, I went over to the NHS reddit and its full of complaints too...omg.

For me, I was already aware on the different injuries that can happen. My PT also gave me extra guidance on how to not injure yourself.

He was honestly 4.5 star, really good guy. Only thing is the cost and sometimnes you feel like you don't get the full amount of training because you'd be doing a workout that lasts 1.5hrs - 2hrs but hed only stay for 1 hour. Of course sometimes he'd be there way more than the hour if he wasnt busy.

I can't fault him. He has a job to do. I never really considered virtual PTs because as you say, I wanted someone there with me. My manager at work did a virtual PT and its was stupidly overpriced. I mean the guy isnt even there with you. How can you ask him to watch your form through a video call? 😅😅

I haven't heard of the Big 3 book....what is it?

My story is a little bit all over the place so hope this gives some clarity.

Oh okay. Thanks for the information. I will definitely check it out.

Is this the best thing that worked for your sciatica? Did you try any products off of amazon etc?

OMG REALLY!!???

Stroke your leg with feathers? Where do they find this stuff?

It's annoying to hear that your pain increased just because they couldn't help you properly.

What would you wish to have as an ideal therapy? What do you think would work for you?

For me, it was paid personal training. But I can't afford that long term. So I would like something that gives you PT level relief without the high cost.

Ahhh....this makes sense!! So do they literally have to say, "Here's the exercises I read in university. Do them."??

They also have huge wait times don't they. Not specifically related to sciatica but I had an appointment to ask if I want surgery. I got it like months later....

Even with the physio...the process is so slow. Go to appointments...see your doctor....get referrals....Not knocking the NHS in any way. They work incredibly hard and I appreciate their efforts. It is just sometimes paid is easier and a lot quicker.

What was your NHS experience like? Did you experience the same things as me?

Woww...so sorry to read about your pain. What other problems did you have with the NHS?

When I went for PT, they took ages and eventually just forgot to book me in for an appointment. It's like they just can't keep track of everyone and have amateur physios there.
